CB Bradley Roby (2x All B1G)

Yep. Good point about the run support. I think he sometimes puts a lot of pressure on himself to make the "big" play and misses the smart play. He barely missed the breakup on the first Abrederris TD. Could have completely changed the game but as most know, it's a game of inches.

Yeah I was just messing with ya, there is blame to go all around but Roby was abused even when it was man. Having said that, there were several big plays where Perry and Grant just looked awful in coverage. There is a reason why this team prefers to have 5 or even 6 DB's in the game. Vs Whisky you can't do that but it is clear where the OSU weakness is on Defense.

FIFY

Currently 8th best rush defense. Ranked 54th in passing yards allowed/game. 34th in total defense. 'Bama still #1 in total defense, but I don't believe they lead in any other individual statistical category. Felt its worth noting for comparison.

This defense is a little lopsided - gotta find a better way to slow down the pass game.

LBs not so hot in coverage, so blitzing them a bit more might solve both problems.

That said, the best blitzer is also the best in coverage so that's tough.

Possibly. I was at the game, and, we were playing a fair amount of off/zone coverage. Very little blitzing, w/some pass rush. Have to be cautious blitzing Wisky w/the run threat they pose on virtually every down. Wisky o-line was very solid as usual. Stave is one of the better QB's I've seen, which is saying something for Wisconsin.

They're a good team, might be slightly better than the mid-20's ranking. Solid win for Urb's and the good guys.

There is a little part of me that wonders if Roby lost focus this summer on what it takes to be an all-american corner and relies on his talent. I think he could have been better prepared or had a better plan last night. It seems after a few plays he was left to holding and grabbing..if you are off play off and break on the ball. If you are in press rock the receiver at the line(See Sherman vs. the 49ers). That being said Roby has been good in the past and maybe some more time in the film room would help. The coaches need to help Roby too, I think they might concentrate on the young guys and forget to work with Roby too. I wouldn't discount his injury making him a little tenative or conservative.
