Cavs 09-10 Season (official thread)

So theoretically if you can get Jamison for Z and another expiring to help the wizards dump money do you do it?

Only if the Wizards agree to buy out Z so he can come back to the Cavs after 30 days.

Supposedly this was the reason the Stephen Jackson trade didn't happen cuz Golden State would not agree to that.

The trade Z and then that team waiving him so the Cavs can get it back happens when Powe comes back. It would be perfect timing. The 30 days without Z can be the time you bring Powe into the fold without hurting minutes for anyone else. Then over those 30 days you find out what you have in Powe if he can help this year and delays who loses minutes (which I think would end up being Hickson)

Then if the Wiz did agree to buy him out, then the issue becomes Z's attitude. He was already miffed by the DNP when he was about to break the games played record, would trading him away cause him not to want to come back? He's the definition of a professional, but it's still an issue to be considered.

They would need to clear it with Z before they made a move. Of course if the league office finds out they'll deny the trade. To be completely honest I'd be willing to ride with what they have unless they can use a sign and trade with Wally to add another player. When Powe comes back they will be 11 deep when only 8 or 9 play on a given night.
