Cavs 09-10 Season (official thread)

Two very good looking games back to back on the road. Everyone in the rotation seems to be playing well at some point. JJ has looked good as the starter. Mo and Boobie playing well is great to see, especially with Delonte' being MIA.

Some of those fouls called for Wade were a joke. LBJ may get calls, but those Wade calls are crazy-shitty.

JJ's performance was really encouraging last night. You can see his confidence level on the court rise as he plays. He got the first couple shots to go down and then he started calling for the ball and being really aggressive when he had his chances. If he can build off of this, he could be a really important piece of this team.

he still needs to finish better. he gets blocked way too many times for a guy his size. that will come with time.

I can see mike brown's conundrum with him. there were times he was totally clueless on defense and cost cleveland to give up easy points. but at the same time, his offensive game is coming together nicely and he fits so much better on the 1st unit with AV coming in with Z in the 2nd unit.

Did anyone watch this thing?

Cavs win another one against a good team. No Shaq in this one. Hickson with a new career high, 20 pts. He may not be there yet defensively, but you can't ignore what he's doing on offense. Keep giving him the minutes, and the defense will come around. He's gonna be a major force once the playoffs come around.

James leads Cavaliers to 107-103 win against Utah CLEVELAND(AP) After LeBron James finished off Utah, Cleveland coach Mike Brown called him Rembrandt. After James did it to Miami on Thursday night, Brown called him Picasso.
Regardless of the artist, James is doing his best work in the paint.
His three-point play on a drive to the basket Saturday night with 28.8 seconds remaining lifted short-handed Cleveland to a 107-103 victory over the Jazz.
James was 6 of 15 from the floor, but scored seven points in the last 28.8 seconds to finish with 21. He also had six rebounds and nine assists. Cleveland (7-3), which was playing without Shaquille O'Neal, has won four straight.

I watched it. Cavs started strong and the coasted until the last couple minutes when Utah took the lead. I remember looking at the box score with a few minutes left and seeing Lebron with 13 pts. He turned it on and finished with 21. JJ had a slow start, but he is getting better and better the more experience he gets. At this pace he will be the athletic 4 with a decent 10-15 ft shot that the Cavs needed. 3 pt shooting has been good. Parker has seemed to learned only to shoot 3's and to keep most of those in the corner. Moon is playing better in West's absence. If West isn't going to be coming back they need to start getting Green some minutes. He could be a good bench player.

Regarding Stephen Jackson

According to this story, Cleveland offered Golden State some celery dumpers and the Kings wanted a player or two who could play so no deal and he goes to Charlotte.

I'm sure West and Wally will still be available when the Bobcats want to dump SJ in a month or two.

the rumor is that golden state took what they considered to be a lesser offer from the bobcats just to screw jackson over and send him to a loser. face it, in their style of offense, Z would never work. they'd probably buy him out and be left with nothing but a salary dump at the end of the day.

I would have actually given them West, D Jackson, and J Williams. That way they would get a 250+ lb guy that could play PF or C and another 6'9" shooter that could play either forward. When West gets his head on straight he is a player.
Even without West I like the Cavs lineup now, but I just think it would be good to get Green some minutes especially if West isn't going to be playing. I don't think Green could have the impact that JJ has had in the starting lineup, but he is probably their 5th guard right now so they might want to get him some real minutes.

I'm beginning to wonder if the Cavs were sitting West in hope of the trade for Jackson with Wally. Both Shaq and Andy are out tonight, but West is seeing some minutes (maybe because they don't think they'll be able to move him).

JJ with 14 so far in the first half. That has to be one of the best moves Mike Brown has ever made. Nothing like finding the player that you desperately needed was sitting on your bench.

damn JJ is exploding the past few games

18/8 so far in this one, cavs up 78-65 with 7 to go in the 3rd

I'm trying to reserve my excitement for JJ Hickson. If he's still playing this well come the end of December, then I'll start to get enthusiastic.

He could be a huge piece of a dynasty puzzle. That's how important I find him to be. But is this just a temporary thing? We'll see..
