Cavs 09-10 Season (official thread)

Windhorst is saying it will probably be Joe Smith, Kurz or Steve Novak.

I like Joe Smith since he fits what they need in a 4. It probably isn't in Powe's best interest to come to the Cavs because he needs to go someplace he can play a lot of minutes, but I'd love to bring him in the fold so that they could resign him in the future. He's going to be a good big for someone in around 6 months.

Powe is a good fit, but I wouldn't mind Novak because he would provide some good spot up shooting which you can never have enough with Shaq and Bron. Although, I wouldn't mind having Joe Smith back, the apparent hold up there is the Cavs only want to give him a single year deal and he is looking for multiple years.

Rashard Lewis suspended the first 10 games of regular season. Game 9 for Orlando is at home against the Cavs on ESPN.

Magic's Lewis suspended for failing drug test - ESPN

Too bad he wasn't suspended when he was hitting all those game winning shots in the Eastern Finals. On the other hand I wonder if whatever he was taking made him a little more fresh at the end of the playoff games if you know what I mean. Good that the Cavs get a small bonus out of this. Winning a game in Orlando would be big.

Elevated testosterone levels and be guarded by Varejao. What could be easier?

AP source: Detroit Pistons, Wallace agree to deal - NBA - Yahoo! Sports

If Ben wanted to play this year why take the buyout? The only thing I can think of is it's to finish where he made it big. He gave up a little over 2 mil this season.

You said it yourself, he still wants to play apparently. Phoenix got him for his contract and nothing else. He would have sat on their bench in a suit all season to end his career and that's not how most want to go out. Ahead of him for minutes in Phoenix are Brook Lopez, Amare, Earl Clark, Channing Frye, Louis Amundson. On top of that he doesn't fit their style.

While in Detroit he still gets minutes and the fans appreciate what he brings.

Can't believe no one has mentioned it yet, but Lebron said he wasn't going to be signing any extension with the Cavs and will become a free agent next season. When asked to elaborate his rationale, he simply said, "you fill in the blanks."

Its obviously not devastating or surprising news. I really just wish Lebron would choose his comments better. I want to give the guy my full support, but it just seems like he has one foot in the door and one foot out.
