Cavs 09-10 Season (official thread)

Can't believe no one has mentioned it yet, but Lebron said he wasn't going to be signing any extension with the Cavs and will become a free agent next season. When asked to elaborate his rationale, he simply said, "you fill in the blanks."

Its obviously not devastating or surprising news. I really just wish Lebron would choose his comments better. I want to give the guy my full support, but it just seems like he has one foot in the door and one foot out.

It's all about money and nobody can pay Lebron what he can make in Cleveland. It's actually his best option to pick up his option for 10-11 since a max deal next year will be a pay cut from the option in his current contract. Name a player that that has turned down a max deal to sing someplace else? I don't even think there's a chance Bosh leaves the Raptors at this point.

and, to be accurate, he said he wasn't signing the extension, he never said anything about making a decision on exercising his option. monetarily, his best move is to sign an extension off of his option year, not declining his option to take a max deal based off of that.

so, it makes little sense for lebron to sign any extension right now, and even less sense to decline his option and become a FA.

Committing one way or another makes zero sense. It's all about marketing for today's professional athlete, and few know that better than LBJ.

Boy, the national sports media really took that info and ran with it!!!! It's really funny how they doo that shit.

He did not say he was not staying, yet all the NY drones took it as that.
He just wants to be the King of drama when he finally re-ups, which he will!!

Wafer took the money and ran to Greece. He will be a complete failure playing for Olympiakos. Terrible situation for him.

Why's that?

They probably win it all, whatever they play for over there. They'll have the All 6th man team over there: Linas, Wafer, Childress, and possibly Iverson.

Their style and tempo does not go well with Von's style, not to mention all of their offense goes through Vujcic, their center.
