Cavs 09-10 Season (official thread)

The Celtics don't have the gas to play 4 quarters with the Cavs anymore. The East is a 2 team race with 2 other decent teams. The way the past 2 Celtics games have gone I would rather the Cavs play them in the second round rather than the Hawks.

Couple funny parts of todays game not including Boston's hilarious attempt at keeping up with the Cavs.. KG jawing at the fans, and LeBron doing a little of his own after making an easy layup with the foul. Paul Pierce getting his ankle literally broken by LeBron. Leon Powe terrorizing his old team late in the game.. And finally, Fat Boy Glen Davis failing miserably at closing out on Antawn Jamison and trucking him... It was a rather comical game for me.

Can't argue with that.

A few quotes from the game recap that stood out to me...

Boston Celtics vs. Cleveland Cavaliers - Recap - March 14, 2010 - ESPN

"Looking at the defense from the championship year, when we won it, it doesn't look the same," Powe said. "It looks like the rotation is slower and they ain't getting to the shooters and closing out like they did before. I don't know if it's effort or maybe they're a little older."

"I thought one guy completely dominated the game and that was Varejao," Celtics coach Doc Rivers said. "Loose balls, activity, getting under our skin, he's doing what he should do. That was very frustrating. He was so active. He moved his feet and we didn't."

I agree here. Varejao was awesome. At one point I thought all of Boston's post players were going to foul out just from frustration.

"He [Perkins] was kind of talking to me a little bit when I was dribbling," James said. "I just used my talents to get around him and get an and-one. It wasn't disrespectful, though. It's OK."

Perkins is such a goof. Every time I see him play I can just picture him saying things like "Me play basketball". "I want hamburger."

Powe still has plenty of friends on Boston's roster and would love to face them in the playoffs. The Celtics are known as one of the league's top trash-talking teams, but they don't go after Powe.

"They don't say anything to me," he said. "It's all love over there. They just ask how I'm doing, stuff like that. They wouldn't trash talk me.

"Well, maybe K.G."

Did that trivia question ask which four players scored 25,000 points with one team in their careers?

Because Michael Jordan was not on the list and he definitely did that.

I think they were looking for players who scored 25,000 and only played for one team in their career. They asked the question awkwardly, but the fact that they only asked for four players indicated that would be the case.

It's just another example of how Jordan ruined his legacy by playing for the Wizards. :tongue2:

I was able to translate the question and still only got two of them myself (Reggie Miller & Kobe Bryant). It's not surprising those are the ones I got considering my age. And actually they could've used the strictest possible interpretation for that list and excluded Bryant due to having technically been a member of the Charlotte Hornets on draft day.

I was surprised to find out that Larry Bird never made it to 25,000. I guess those Celtics teams didn't need him to score that many points with all the other great players they had.

6 up on Orlando with 12 to play and 3.5 up on the Lakers.

Big Z set to return on Monday.

8-4 probably gets it done for best record in the league. hell, 7-5 could probably do it.

by the by, i do believe that boston automatically gets the 3 seed because they win their division, making atlanta the 4 seed. the hawks are very good, but they don't match up well with the cavs when cleveland is healthy.

also, the bobcats at the 6 seed is scary. they could easily give boston all they want in the 1st round.

I think they changed the rule a few years back so the worst a division winner can do is the 4 seed. If say Orlando and Atlanta had the 2 best records in the east they would get the top 2 seeds and then the other 2 division winners would get the 3 and 4.
As long as the Cavs don't have to play the Bobcats I'll be happy. It will be nice to get a center back since the only problem the Cavs have had with Shaq out and Z not around is with real centers like Hibbert and Bogut.
