Cavs- 49-15
Lakers- 46-18, 3 GB
Magic-44-20, 5 GB

Hollinger at ESPN has a pretty cool record predictor thing that's updated daily, similar to pomeroy. It calculates ratings by team based on game scores and then plays out the rest of the season.

2010 NBA Playoff Odds - ESPN

Right now it has the Cavs ending up 4 games ahead.

Wins
62 Cavs
58 Lakers
57 Magic
54 Mavs
54 Jazz
53 Celtics
53 Hawks

It has the Bobcats #7 (42) and Raptors #8 (41) right now too. I wouldn't worry about either but the Bobcats could probably force a game or two more than the Raptors.

the celtics will get run by atlanta in 2nd round if this comes to fruition. and i definately like toronto in the 1st round more than the bobcats.

I think the Cavs would beat the Air Jordans in a 7 game series, but it would be a much harder series than I would want for them in the first round. I'm hoping for the Bucks, Bulls, or Heat.

Do you mean the celtics will get run by orlando in the 2nd round?
Yeah...I didn't understand the statement either. I was pulling for Boston over Washington yesterday actually. I want Orlando and Boston to be the 2 and 3 seed...so we won't see either of them until the conference finals. We have Atlanta's number. I would love to play the Heat in the first round.

Nail biter tonight. Cavs put it out at the end with no Lebron, no Shaq, and Jamison sitting out most of the second half with a stiff knee. Better all around effort with no one over 17, but 6 with at least 10. Looks like Mo stopped wearing the shoulder brace and played a little better than he has been. If his was like the ones I've worn in the past I could see how it would throw him off. West once again proving why they need to put up with his mental problems. Cavs are going to need the 3 day break to hopefully get healthy.

They don't play again until Friday (@PHI).

10 games left in March. Only 1 back-to-back (IND, then @CHI) over that stretch. Actually there's only 2 back-to-backs the rest of the way (@CHI, then IND...ironically). No difficult travel there.

While certainly not on the level of the aging Celtics, the Cavs have accumulated some nagging injuries. The schedule seems very favorable to get some rest, while still getting the top record.

i think the statement means that i totally glossed over orlando at the top.

Nobody in the world of sports has said anything about it, but the Cavs have officially clinched a playoff spot! The first team to do so this year.

How little of a deal this shows how far the Cavs have come. It was an a certainty that the Cavs would make the playoffs before the season started. And LeBron James is the reason that making the playoffs isn't a big deal in Cleveland anymore.

But regardless, congrats to the Cavs!
