Emeka Okafor of the Bobcats dunks over Drew Gooden of the Cavaliers. Okafor scored 19 points.

Bobcats 96, Cavaliers 93 -- LeBron James consistently hit jumpers. He looked good on drives to the basket and wowed the crowd with a couple of dunks.
Too bad for visiting Cleveland that was before the game. When James shed his basketball gear for street clothes just before tip-off, he could only watch helplessly last night as the reigning Eastern Conference champions extended their slide to six straight losses.

James says sore finger feels better, could play vs. Pacers

CLEVELAND -- LeBron James' injured finger passed the required practice test. It's game time.
James, who has missed Cleveland's past five games -- all losses -- with a sprained left index finger, is expected to be back in the lineup on Tuesday night when the Cavaliers host the Indiana Pacers.

Following practice on Monday, James said the finger has improved and that he didn't have any problems with it after two days of contact. The Cavaliers' megastar sounded confident that he would dress for the Pacers.

facility and smiled. For a change, the basketball courts were more crowded than the training room.
The Cavs appear to be close to getting most of their pieces back in time for tonight's home game against the Indiana Pacers.
"It was good to be out there as a coach and look on the floor and see all your guys," the Cavaliers' head coach said.

Lacking practice, Cavs' attack is offensive

by Mary Schmitt Boyer Monday December 10, 2007, 7:47

Know what the Cavaliers really need? Well, besides LeBron James' sprained left index finger to heal.
What the Cavs really need is some practice time.
Coach Mike Brown was shocked when he realized that before Friday's session, his team's last contact practice came on Nov. 23.
No offense, coach, but it shows.
If the Cavs sometimes look as if they've never played together, the fact of the matter is that they haven't.

CAVALIERS INSIDER
Super sub? Hughes could stay on bench

Tuesday, December 11, 2007 Mary Schmitt Boyer

Plain Dealer Reporter

Cavs coach Mike Brown seems to be at least interested in having Larry Hughes come off the bench.
Hughes, out since Nov. 14 with a deep bone bruise in his left leg, returned and played 26 minutes in Charlotte, leading the team with 22 points.
"I enjoyed having him come off the bench against Charlotte," Brown said. "I think he enjoyed that role, too. That's something we can always explore. He started for us for two years. He has started his whole career. But Larry's a guy who definitely wants to win.

Granted the Cavs have looked like crap without LeBron playing, but we've remained competitive in several and the difference of winning and losing has been Mike Brown.

Not having LeBron has caused us to play poor, but it isn't an excuse to fold up and die.

It isn't as if this stretch has been against San Antonio, Dallas, and Phoenix. We've played some very mediocre teams that we should/could have beaten, if not for awful coaching decesions.

I will never understand going Eric Snow (PG), Damon Jones (SG), Devin Brown (SF), Ira Newble (PF), Dwayne Jones (C) - when Boobie, Sasha, Gooden, Shannon Brown, and Z are all on the bench free of foul trouble in a close game. Talk about an excellent way to give up all momentum and quickly lose control of a game.

Earlier i said Mr. Potatohead is "bottom five" of NBA coaches...I was wrong, he is the bottom. Seriously, I wonder if he can tie his own shoes. The best thing for this franchise long term may be to continue to struggle so that the front office can see just how inept this idiot is and fire him. The Cavs will not win a championship with him coaching...LeBron be damned.

if LeBron is capable of playing, why is he not starting? Head scratcher to say the least.
Cuz his defender will not spend one second defending him... the only thing he will focus on is smashing that finger to knock him out of the game
