Cavs 07-08 Season Thread

I was just kidding about Hughes, but in all seriousness that is what he can bring to the table if he plays within himself, and realizes that if the shots aren't falling he needs to take it to the hole and try and create for teammates that are making shots...

With the addition of Shannon Brown playing well and Andy back we are now talking about contending again with Larry and LBJ back from injury...

Hughes is averaging 29.5 pts/game since he has been back...Just sayin...

That may have been Hughes' best overall game as a Cav. It had to be his best shooting game. He played decently his first game back, too, so that's 2 in a row. I'll cut him slack when he stops shooting sub-40 %.

They looked like a much different team with all of the players back, except Gibby. The best part of all the players healthy (when Gibby comes back) is that we'll see much less of Devin Brown, Snow, Jones and the other turds.

LeBron said after the game that it was his choice to come off the bench. He told Brown that if he and Andy came off the bench and into the game together, that the crowd would be less hostile to AV. Pretty good idea on his part.

9 boards and 6 points in 22 minutes for AV. Welcome back.

I think Shannon Brown has played well enough in the last week to warrant a spot in the rotation. More Shannon, less Devin, Snow and Amon.

If Hughes can play like that every game he would be worth the contract. I'd settle for ever other game. Definitely a different team with most everyone healthy. Be nice if they could get back to the 2nd or 3rd playoff spot and they match up well with the Celtics.

The Cavs' LeBron James drives on the Pacers' Troy Murphy, left, and Shawne Williams in the second quarter.

CLEVELAND -- LeBron James didn't need long to recall the last time he didn't start a game.
"Uh, never," he said.
And never again.
"That was one and done for me," James said, smiling. "I will not be coming off the bench anymore."
James came back -- as a reserve -- and the Cleveland Cavaliers, sparked by their superstar's return from injury, halted a six-game losing streak with a 118-105 win over the Indiana Pacers last night.

there are only two problems.

1. hughes is more likely to follow up his performance with 3-12 and 4-15 efforts.

2. despite #1, he won't stop shooting.

Slumping Nets get on track vs. Cavs

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Vince Carter matched a season high with 32 points, Richard Jefferson had 24 and the New Jersey Nets snapped a four-game losing streak with a 105-97 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers last night.
Josh Boone scored a season-high 15 points, even though he was 2 of 4 from the free-throw line when the Cavaliers intentionally fouled him on consecutive possessions in the fourth quarter. Boone, who shot an airball from the line earlier, was 3 of 8 overall.

Drew Gooden, who scored 21 points for the Cavaliers, drives against Kyle Korver of the 76ers in the first quarter.

CLEVELAND -- LeBron James knows the numbers don't lie.
After the Cleveland Cavaliers dropped a 92-86 decision to the Philadelphia 76ers last night for their eighth loss in nine games, James summed up the obvious.
"We're not playing very good basketball," he said. "Right now, we're not a very good team."
The Cavaliers fell to 5-5 at home after going 30-11 in Quicken Loans Arena last season.
"I don't want to say it hurts, but losing any game at home or any game at all doesn't feel good," James said. "We have to regroup."

i was centercourt for the 76'ers game Saturday night.

this team is a joke. it's so much more worse in person than on tv.

pavlovich and damon jones are both worthless.
larry hughes needs shot period. he does nothing well, nothing.

cleveland's backcourt is the worst in the nba period.

In all honesty, I don't know if this is even a playoff team. That may be a good thing though if it gets Mr. Potatohead canned. Larry Hughes: Please retire.:dead:

On the bright side the Cavs do get a draft pick this year so it might help if they get a lottery pick.
