Cavs 07-08 Season Thread

It just goes to show that without LBJ Mike Brown would not be the coach of this team...He is a joke of a coach...

As much fun as it was, making the finals last summer probably set this team back in that it increased Mr. Potatohead's job security. He is in the bottom-five of NBA head coaches in my opinion. The guy is a functional retard.

I couldn't agree more...I don't think Borwn is horrible when he has LBJ, but that is because LBJ makes everyone's job around him that much easier...

It is just mind boggling how he can't see the potential of some of these guys and the stupid things that he is doing...

I mean last year it was Boobie and Sasha, this year it is Brown, and playing guys like Newble and Jones the minutes he is playing them...

Oh please oh please. I would love to see Kidd playing with Lebron. Can't trade Varejao for 3 months, and I wouldn't give up Gooden or Gibson. That would leave Hughes or Z and some expiring contracts. My ultimate trade would be Hughes, Marshall, and the next tradeable first rounder. I'd throw in Brown if they'd want him.

Kidd wants to play with James in Cleveland
By Adrian Wojnarowski, Yahoo! Sports
December 5, 2007
There was no migraine headache holding Jason Kidd out of the New Jersey Nets' loss to the New York Knicks Wednesday night, but a superstar sending a message to a floundering franchise that he's irate with management and teammates, several league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
As the Nets flew back to New Jersey late Tuesday from a victory over Cleveland, sources said Kidd already had decided he would be sitting out against the Knicks in the Meadowlands. Kidd didn't tell Nets officials until Wednesday afternoon, but several people inside and outside the organization were made aware of the meaning behind his sick day.
Kidd's agent, Jeff Schwartz, isn't believed to have formally demanded a trade, but Wednesday's bold act could be the precursor to starting that process. Two sources said Kidd has been a constant text messaging partner with LeBron James since playing with him this summer on Team USA and that the Cavaliers are his preferred destination.

That would be an amazing for us...

Not sure who we would give up, but I would be willing to give up just about anyone, except for LBJ and Boobie...

Also I would like to see us hold on to the draft picks...NBA drafts are going to start being deeper with more talent due to the rule of having to go to college for one year, and we need to continue building for the future and the draft is a great way...Look at how the Spurs continue to add main cogs to their teams and develop them...

Wizards send Cavaliers to fifth straight loss

Thursday, December 6, 2007 3:26 AM

ASSOCIATED PRESS

WASHINGTON -- The Washington Wizards were perfectly happy to miss LeBron James.
With James out for a fourth straight game because of a sprained left index finger, the Wizards took advantage to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 105-86 last night.
Washington's past two playoff runs were ended by Cleveland, including a sweep in the first round last spring when the Wizards were without Gilbert Arenas and Caron Butler.

NBA roundup: Cavs match Varejao offer

Thursday, December 6, 2007 3:25 AM

ASSOCIATED PRESS

Anderson Varejao will play for the Cleveland Cavaliers this season, after all.
The Cavaliers matched the Charlotte Bobcats' three-year, $17 million offer sheet for the restricted free agent yesterday, ending a contract dispute that gives Cleveland some much needed help.
"His size, his athleticism, his strength, his knowledge, all that stuff -- yes, it's an added bonus," coach Mike Brown said before a game last night in Washington.

cleveland doesn't have the juice to trade for kid unless the nets for some stupid reason took larry hughes.

I bet Hughes and Gooden could get it done, but I don't know if I would want to give up Gooden. Maybe they could work a 3 way deal to send Hughes to Washington.

Nobody wants Larry Hughes (and his money)
Nobody wants Eric Snow
Nobody want Damon Jones
Nobody wants Ira Newble

These guys are only in any trade that gives us equal shit in return.

Arenas wants Hughes, but the Wizards management has to be happy that he took the Cavs offer now. Teams looking to dump salary would take Newble since this is the final year of his contract. I wish they could find a way to get Andre Miller back if Kidd isn't an option. That possibility of Miller took a hit when Andy signed since they could have worked a sign and trade before that. I don't mind Jones as much this season since he has seemed to shoot better in the games I've watched (I haven't watched the past 4). If they buy out Snow could they then trade then trade his contract to someone else? WTF is Boykins up to these days?
