Larry Hughes doesn't consider himself a point guard. Never has, never will. He's a slashing shooting guard, plain and simple.
He does, however, like the feeling of calling plays from time to time. And the Cleveland guard will admit to a certain affection at seeing his passes fly exactly where his teammates like to shoot the ball, and a love of being in control of the offense instead of waiting for it to come to him.
So, while the self-proclaimed shooting guard fills in for Daniel Gibson and his sore toe once again when they travel to Detroit tonight, the Cavaliers seem to have stumbled upon a lineup that works - all while proclaiming that Hughes is not a point guard.
