Cavs 06-07 season thread

There were about 4 times late in the game when he tried to make something happen and I was just screaming for him to give the ball back to LeBron.

Pavs doesn't play under control at all, and it causes him to make stupid plays.

as for using that timeout, the thinking was to get cleveland's offensive lineup in the game with 30 seconds left, to possibly win it regardless of detroit's last possession. however, i don't see the logic in calling the timeout to sub when the play was going to be lebron dribble then shoot a 21 foot jumper with 1 second on the shot clock.

Jones does not belong in the game-never. He only smelled pt when Gibby fouled out and Snow was the only other option. Snow is good to use on the defensive end, like Brown has been using him. The minute posession changes, you better take a 20 and get him out of there. That strategy has been working just because of the close games, as long as he saves the 20's.

The officiating was questionable for both sides so at least it was consistent.

Nice to see LeBron sticking up for his guys. I wonder if Stu Jackson is going to suspend McDyess. It appears he has to, based on earlier suspensions this playoff season.

That looked at least as bad as the Nash bump, with a slightly better acting job by Varejao. I guess it depends if Horry got suspended for for the bump or the ruckus afterward.

There is no other way to put it other than that was just amazing...

LBJ was a ragin inferno as Barkley said, but I agree with Kenny and Chuck that I can't believe that Detroit wasnt taking the ball out of his hands...

Also it doesnt matter who our coach is at this point, this is LBJ's team and he is the player coach...

There will be no plays other than give the ball to LBJ and let him do what he does...

I just hope that he continue to go hard to the rack and doesnt rely on that jumper too much...

Also lets hope that Boobie and Gooden have good performances in game 6, and we can close this game out...

WHen I saw the McDyess foul on Varejao live, I immediately yelled "Flagrant 2 - eject him!" at the screen. Then I saw the replay from midcourt and thought it was a Flagrant 1.

But after seeing the replay from underneath the basket, I again thought it was a Flagrant 2. He clotheslined him with the crook of his elbow, and that has no place in the game - calling it a "good, hard playoff foul" is old-school BS - and I've been watching the NBA playoffs for over 40 years.

Chris Webber calling it a flop at halftime is about as much of a joke as his usual defensive effort.

or his free-throw shooting:)
McDyess might not have wanted it to turn out that way but that could have led to a very serious injury. If the referees had not called that flagrant that game would have been very nasty.

The biggest thing I have noticed in this series and the playoffs is LBJ becoming a leader, he ran to the defense of Wild Thing, and he carried this team on his back thru this game...He leads all the huddle discussions, he yelled at Drew for not taking a jumper he should have...

This is his team, and if anyone can bring a championship to Cleveland I have to believe it is the KING...I just hope that he can fight off the curse...

I'm not even going to try to analyze Lebron's game. What he did last night just speaks for itself.

I'll focus on the other Cavs.

Eric Snow gave us some really good minutes last night. It was nice to see. I thought we put him in too early down the stretch(I'd like to see him come in when the Pistons only have two possessions left, not any earlier otherwise they'll just completely ignore him on offense). But he played good D and got some key steals. That's the role Eric Snow needs to play on this team.

Damon Jones is just a sieve on defense. Play him when Lindsey Hunter is in the game, and never(I mean NEVER) have him guard Billups, Hamilton, or Prince, because that's just a guaranteed two points for Detroit.

Gooden played well considering he was plagued by foul trouble.

Boobie played better than I thought he would have. He's a gamer that's going to be an integral part of future runs(he's already part of this year's championship run).

Larry Hughes continues to be a warrior that gives us some fouls, some minutes so we don't have Boobie and Snow out there the entire game. I think that's all you can ask from him right now.

Sasha didn't have a bad game. He wasn't in a flow, but he was aggressive and his shot looked good. I think at home, this would have been a game where he goes for 15, but he was solid defensively(better than he was the previous game since I didn't recally yelling his name during the game) and he was one of our better rebounders.

Z had an interesting game. Offensively, he was very good, but he made a lot of defensive lapses that lead to Webber dunks, and we can't let that happen at all. He needs to know when to give help defense better. Otherwise, he had a good game.

Andy had an average game. Nothing spectacular, nothing dumb either.

Anyone else notice the Scott Pollard sighting in the second quarter? What was up with that?
