That was an especially nice touch. Yours?

Pity about poor Cam and the NCAA however. Tic tock tick tock.

my highschool buddy has Cam topped....

he copied a friends paper at lunch while drunk. He actually copied his friends name on the paper as well. The teacher received two assignments from the same student with identical answers and different handwriting. It didn't take sherlock holmes to figure out who cheated since there was only one student who didn't turn in the assignment.

:2004:

This is not urban legend...it really happened and I was a witness to this glorious event.

I have an identical story about one of my friends who did the exact same thing but was sober...

Re: Cecil Newton said the family received a letter from the NCAA "about a month ago" asking for financial statements. He said he submitted bank statements and records for the church where he is pastor, Holy Zion Center of Deliverance in Newnan, Ga., along with other records.
The church has been in the news in Coweta County, Ga., often in the past year. According to stories in The Times-Herald newspaper, Cecil Newton's church was in danger of being demolished by order of the Newnan City Council in 2009 for failing to meet the city's building code. One story said Cecil Newton told the council last September the building would be brought to code "inside of six months." After numerous delays, extensions and compromises from the council, renovation work began last spring and The Times-Herald reported last week that the church is in compliance with Newnan's building requirements.
"If you've ever seen our church, you'd know we don't have any money," said Cam Newton's mother, Jackie. "We have nothing."
Holy Zion Center of Deliverance is not the only church Cecil Newton is involved in overseeing. Cam Newton told ESPN.com last month that his dad is a bishop to five churches in Georgia.

Where did the money to renovate the church come from?

As Deep Throat told Woodward & Bernstein:

Pennies from heaven. Praise the lord!

You don't find it plausible that someone would try and get paid by MSU but none of the other SEC schools?

of course it's plausible

Miss. St. has been a bottom feeder for a decade now.
of course it would more money to get a big name guy there than somewhere with a chance at winning.

I don't doubt that MSU would have to pay more than others, I just highly doubt MSU is the only player in the market.

Papa Newton has at this point I believe admitted to asking MSU for money. We also know that he somehow came up with enough cash to repair his church all of a sudden right? I don't think anyone is going to pull a hammy making the last couple of steps in that particular logic chain.

Poor Ord was so crushed by the news he hasn't posted on this thread since.

Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

Seriously, you seem to think that I hate Florida. I really don't. I just hate Tebow. Urban's little drama queen act last Winter left me scratching my head, and I have yet to see any evidence that he can turn around the off-field incidents/in the classroom performance the way that Tressel did after his first couple of years....but it's not hate.

I do hate the SEC, but I actually think that Florida--based to a large degree on cultural changes in the state from the inflow of Northeastern and Great Lakes population--has actually separated itself from its sleazy, community college brethren. Despite the beatdown in the desert, I still would rather see Florida do well than more traditional SEC pits of sleaze like bama, TN or Auburn. I have no love for Florida, but there are many universities that I would rather see fall into a sinkhole ahead of it.

Watching this kid play against Georgia and he's way too cocky. I can see me being a Bama fan in the Iron Bowl this year.

Just to make sure I am up to speed, Mr. Newton is now saying that something he previously said did not happen, in fact happened.

However, other things he previously said did not happen still did not happen. So there is no reason for concern.

I see nothing wrong with that!

I plan on taking multiple showers that day and pulling for Bama.

If Bama wins, then the debate will be that a 1-loss Auburn SEC champion (if they can beat Spurrier in Atlanta) deserves the BCS Title game over TCU or Boise State.

Many voters will be reluctant to place a 1-loss Auburn in the title game, since they may have wins vacated at a later date. But many BCS haters may well vote for Auburn hoping that placing them in the title game and then later having to vacate wins will help blow up the system. I don't really see the logic in that, since it could also happen in a playoff system, but there will be some BCS haters that will hope for that scenario, thinking the current system will get blamed for the disaster, and that anything bad for the BCS is a good thing.

An Auburn loss to Bama would also make the Heisman race interesting. When Auburn is undefeated and Cam has the best stats and is an obvious choise from an MVP perspective, it's difficult not to vote for him as long as he's still eligible to play. But if they lose to Bama, then voters looking for an excuse to vote for somebody else can jump to LaMichael James (although he was mediocre yesterday) or Kellen Moore.

If Cam starts to look like he's no longer the clear frontrunner, the media types will start to talk about the ugly incident that James had with his girlfriend earlier this year, which resulted in his suspension from the season opener. And the mention of integrity in the Heisman's charter, although it's not on the actual ballot.

That could open it up for Kellen Moore to actually win it. I'm not sure how I'd feel about that.

It could break that way. Oregon vs TCU in the Championship game and the Heisman to Moore as Boise State's consolation prize.

and at that point I think any non directly Buckeye related CFB would be dead to me.

I guess there is nothing left of tradition so lets just have the fucking playoff. If nothing else it seems almost worth it to expose the fucking mid majors.

he is too cocky. and his teammate fairley is the dirtiest player in the game today.

bad thing is, best case scenario for lsu (regarding what bowl we go to), is for Auburn to win out and play in the BCS CG.

which means I'm gonna have to somehow pull for them pricks in the upcoming weeks.
