Cam Newton (QB New England Patriots)

[gatorubet:] Auburn hired the legal team away from a congressional investigation leaving Charlie Rangel to defend himself.[/gatorubet]

By the way, did anyone catch the uncalled late hit on the QB by an Auburn D lineman? They seem to get away with stuff that gets other teams in deep doo doo.

saw the replays.

dude has a reputation throughout the south for being a dirty player.

he speared Murray Saturday, and has taken out (at least temporarily) 3 other qbs this year.

he pile drives them to the ground. something that would get flagged and fined in nfl.

and it's unfortunate, because the guy is REALLY good. he doesn't need to play dirty.

but he's playing at such a thuggish level now, that i would not be upset if Bama's o line high-lowed his ass until he quits.

FBI investigations tend to be better run than NCAA investigations so how would the FBI investigation help the NCAA? I'm guessing it's about tracking where the money went?
The NCAA Bush investigation took years because of stonewalling but try that with the FBI and go directly to jail.

Still the time frame may be too short to Bowl/Heisman selection time to prevent a very embarrassing situation.
We may be seeing the beginning of the end to the BCS.

This is an interesting tidbit. Allegedly Cecil Newton heads a church named HOLY ZION CENTER OF DELIVERANCE, INC. The church building was supposedly under condemnation proceedings when the necessary repairs were mysteriously made. According to the Georgia Secretary of State the corporate charter was administratively dissolved on 5/16/2008. What gives Cecil? Passing the plate for a nonexistent entity?

Business name history

Certificate of Administrative Dissolution

EDIT

An older thread on this point from Tigerdroppings.com

It's the SEC, Cinci. If a team, late in the season, has a shot at the NC game, every conceivable call will go their way. Whether it's the crazy thug shit from #90 or the fumble on the go ahead touchdown, Auburn will get every call on the field and in the SEC's office from here on out. That's how these clowns roll, and that's why they are the joke of the American higher education system.

They can lock him up/suspend him/sanction him all they want. Always been a crook.

Yeah, that's pretty fucking ridiculous. Did he even get flagged on that play?

Nope. I can see why SEC fans get on Auburn's case. The hi lo they did on Dorsey (?), the LSU nose guard ,a couple of years ago damn near ended his career.

How about this -- if USC wins out they'll be in the AP top 15, maybe even top 10 and even if Alabama beats Auburn, the tigers/plainsmen/war eagles will remain a top ten team-- so let's create the Rent - A - Center Bowl for them - to be played at Leavenworth or San Quentin.
