i skimmed through the last couple pages because i'm really lazy and didn't feel like actually reading.

here's my take on this past weekend:

reportedly, the NCAA informed Auburn of potential eligibility issues this past thursday. meaning it is now up to Auburn whether or not to play the kid. they do this at their own risk.

so the conversation must have gone something like one of these:

AU: "Should we be worried that he's not elligible?"
NCAA: "We don't have enough evidence to support that. (yet)"
AU: "well then, he's playing until we hear otherwise."

or possibly

AU: "so is he inelligible?"
NCAA: "oh yeah, he's done."
AU: "if he plays, do we vacate only the games from here going forward? or all the games he's already played."
NCAA: "all of them. and we're gonna laugh when handing down the punishment. you sorry bastards get to have 2 undefeated season without a title in the same decade :slappy: ."
AU:"fuck it we gonna play him"

the entertainment value alone is worth my praying it's scenario #2

In other news, Truman defeats Dewey.

I think Captain Obvious could've helped out the Tigers on this one. If you couldn't figure out that Cam Newton has "potential eligibility issues," you shouldn't be trusted with sharp objects.

yeah, but the key is: when did the ncaa "officially" inform Auburn?

if it was this past thursday (as its being reported) then Auburn's defense team is going to fight like hell for them to only be punished from that point forward.

Are you saying they want to be punished for Saturday's game? That would vacate less games, but it would still vacate any possible national championship.

No. He's saying they'd make the argument that only the games after they were told he was possibly ineligible would be vacated, rather than all of the games he's participated in.

There was no option to not be punished for Saturday's game, as his absence would be a killer one.

They've known about this for a long time. They decided in the spring to move forward despite the charges.

he is too cocky. and his teammate fairley is the dirtiest player in the game today.

bad thing is, best case scenario for lsu (regarding what bowl we go to), is for Auburn to win out and play in the BCS CG.

which means I'm gonna have to somehow pull for them pricks in the upcoming weeks.
Isn't the best case for LSU for the barn to beat Bama but then have to forfeit/vacate all games before the SECCG? Wouldn't that put LSU in the dome vs the cocks?

well yeah, but i'm not real confident that the ncaa will rule fast enough for that to happen

so we need auburn to win out so we can geaux to the sugar bowl
