Bama knows how to take a guy out. Remember the BCS Championship game? That was over quick. I expect to see Fairley get hi-loed early and often. Gonna be a war.

i would love nothing more than to see an Auburn dlineman get what they gave Dorsey back in '07.

Dorsey didn't have the reputation of being dirty. they just couldn't stop him.

Fairley can be stopped either, but he's the dirtiest i've seen in a while.

This is an interesting tidbit. Allegedly Cecil Newton heads a church named HOLY ZION CENTER OF DELIVERANCE, INC. The church building was supposedly under condemnation proceedings when the necessary repairs were mysteriously made. According to the Georgia Secretary of State the corporate charter was administratively dissolved on 5/16/2008. What gives Cecil? Passing the plate for a nonexistent entity?

Business name history

Certificate of Administrative Dissolution

EDIT

An older thread on this point from Tigerdroppings.com

This is one of those "facts" that on first blush might look like something really important....but it's not. This kinda stuff happens all the time with non-profits. Most states, including Ohio, require non-profits to, basically, renew their state filings by sending in a simple form every few years. If the non-profit fails to file the form, they cancel the charter. The non-profit still exists and operates, it just does not have some of the statutory protections that are given via the charter. In Ohio, to get reinstated after such a cancelation the non-profit just has to file a simple form with the Secretary of State. :sleep2:

FBI's Cam Newton Probe Expands to Auburn Booster | TMZ.com

The FBI investigation into the cash for Cam Newton scandal now involves a guy who gave more than $1 million to Auburn University ... and was recently arrested in a bribery sting.

According to sources connected to the probe ... FBI agents looking into the Newton recruiting controversy are also asking about Milton McGregor -- a dog track owner arrested last month for allegedly bribing Alabama politicians to vote pro gambling.

We're told agents asked someone connected to the Newton case if he was familiar with McGregor or the bribery scandal.

It's unclear what, if any, direct connection McGregor has to Newton. Back in 2008, McGregor did donate a million bucks toward construction of a new arena at Auburn.

McGregor did not return a call for comment.

There's a blast from the past.. I grew up in Alabama, McGregor was a well known gambling guy.... doesn't surprise me his name is thrown around in this... The state loves its football, we use to have Alabama vs Auburn assemblies sometime during Iron Bowl week in grade school through high school...don't know if the Ohio public schools did this for the SCUM game

Corporate charters for both profit and nonprofit corporations are canceled by the state for any number of reasons. In many cases where operations have ceased individuals stop filing property tax returns, franchise tax returns, and similar filings for the purpose of forcing the state to cancel the charter rather than pay the dissolution filing fee. Here is a LINK to the church. It looks like a warehouse that Cecil Newton would use for his construction company. AP reports mentioned that neighbors said that the church had not been used in quite some time.

In this situation there have been allegations that 3 separate $60K payments were made to the Newton family. The question is where exactly did the money go? Did the money go through the collection plate of a defunct church managed by Cecil and to his construction company under the guise of renovations? In my opinion the cancellation of the church's charter is very important to follow at this point in the process if for no other reason than to either confirm the presence or absence of a money trail.
