Cam Newton (QB New England Patriots)

If he's not in jail from a DUI or purple drank charge within one year I will be amazed. Gator Nation thought we dodged a bullet when he left. And there was little sadness that he was gone even when he and the tigerplaineseagles won the crystal. Unfortunately for Cam, his ethics and example was formed by being raised by his hypocritical fake preacher of a daddy.

You look at a Manning - and at a Newton or Forcier - and it is no secret that the key to their success or failure is the way they were raised and, who raised them. Cam does not have the life tools to succeed IMO, and his dad will be a stone around his economic neck for some time. Just wait until the day comes when his dad gets mad that Cam has a change of heart and refuses to give...."his church".....a million a year. I foresee that at roughly the same time he impregnates some model and marries her, and she starts questioning the books.

He's reached the age of reason.

His douchebaggery is solely on him.

I would bet that Cecil is getting pretty nervous about the nfl strike. Scam can not get a deal done until the strike is over but I bet Cecil has already mortgaged the church on the contract.

The church is already in disarray. I don't think they're having services there now because they're not allowed.

Not to mention, if he's having church services ANYWHERE and is not paying taxes on the funds (which he probably isn't), then the IRS will come a-knockin.

(submitted by a trustee of a church in Omaha )

Edit: I stands corrected. Looks like they repaired the building back in October of last year. But my statement about the IRS still goes, LOL.

Edit2: Man, looking at the list of stuff that he had to repair in a violations letter. Wowsers. It's not a large list, but for a church, it's a killer. Kicker is, the letter of violations came in June of 2008. Repairs on the building didn't start until the Spring of 2009. And apparently, sCAM has a brother....that PLAYED FOR THE JAGS!!!

City Council reporter for the Times-Herald, Elizabeth Melville, said Cam Newton's father told the council that another son was signing to a football team and was giving the church some money from the deal. "He said he had a different son that played football that was being signed on that expected to get a lot of money from a deal. He was going to be able to give him some and I think he was going to get some from somewhere else. I think he was going to get some from somewhere else. He explained the origins of where the money would come from at a council meeting and no one was suspicious at the time."

The other son is Cecil Newton who played the 2009 season with the Jaquars, the NFL team in Jacksonville, FL.

After the construction was completed, the city tells us the building meets minimum requirements.

Here's the violations he had at the building:

They should have just put, "You basically can set fire to this building....."

Yes, they did repair the church last October. Coincidentally just a short time after Cam started at Auburn. The money they had been lacking for repairs for years just miraculously showed up.

Completely coincidentally. :roll2:

Cams brother is also a center who will playing in the UFL next season. If he has a good year, the Jags might just have him snapping the ball to his brother ha.

Where is Yahoo sports when you need them? Someone please tell me they're investigating this guy's dad and all the shady deals that landed him at Auburn. Nothing will please me more than seeing the championship stripped, the Heisman taken away and all this yapping stopped. Enough, already.
They didn't strip Bush of his Heisman, though I would've loved to have seen them do so. The Heisman foundation is a bunch of pussies. They aren't going to strip Newton of the Heisman, no matter what happens.

No, they didn't strip Bush, but they were going to. He voluntarily returned it before they could strip it from him. Had he not returned it, it would have been taken away.

A historic movement first occurred in 2010 when University of Southern California athletic director Pat Haden announced the university would return its replica of the 2005 Heisman Trophy due to NCAA sanctions requiring the university to dissociate itself from Reggie Bush. On September 14, Bush issued a statement that he would forfeit his title as a Heisman winner and return the trophy. The next day, the Heisman Trust vacated Bush's 2005 Heisman Trophy and removed all mention of the 2005 award from its official website.

Bush is not listed as a winner on the "official Heisman" site, i.e. there is no winner listed for 2005:
