No, they didn't strip Bush, but they were going to. He voluntarily returned it before they could strip it from him. Had he not returned it, it would have been taken away.

A historic movement first occurred in 2010 when University of Southern California athletic director Pat Haden announced the university would return its replica of the 2005 Heisman Trophy due to NCAA sanctions requiring the university to dissociate itself from Reggie Bush. On September 14, Bush issued a statement that he would forfeit his title as a Heisman winner and return the trophy. The next day, the Heisman Trust vacated Bush's 2005 Heisman Trophy and removed all mention of the 2005 award from its official website.

Bush is not listed as a winner on the "official Heisman" site, i.e. there is no winner listed for 2005:

Ah, thanks for that info. I stand corrected. This just made my day!!!

edit: I just realized something. This means Ohio State is the unequaled leader with the maximum Heisman winners.

This just hit me: Did Pete Carrol have a BCSNC bonus in his contract - and can they sue his ass to get it back?

NFL investigating players' involvement with casino
DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) -- The NFL is investigating the reported investment by at least 25 NFL players in an Alabama casino that has been shut down, a business venture that might have run afoul of league rules.
NFL spokesman Greg Aiello confirmed the investigation Friday, a day after Yahoo! Sports reported that wide receivers Terrell Owens, Santonio Holmes, Santana Moss and other players had invested some $20 million in Country Crossing casino. The report also named defensive tackle Gerard Warren and linebacker Adalius Thomas, a free agent who played for the New England Patriots until his release before last season.
NFL rules bar employees from involvement with any gaming operation. Players violating that rule could be subject to fines or suspensions and have to give up their investment.
it took about six months and the NFL to do the digging for them, but Auburn might get noticed after all.
Country Crossing owner Ronnie Gilley and two of his lobbyists have pleaded guilty to offering legislators millions in bribes.
Country Crossing and another Alabama casino are at the center of a probe that resulted in nine people going to trial accused of buying and selling votes on pro-gambling legislation, including four former or current state senators.

NationalChampions.jpeg

Now would be an appropriate time to note that NCAA Legislation Cite 16.1.4.2 says that the total value for any single award received for a national championship may not exceed $415, and the total value of any award for a conference championship may not exceed $325.

Anybody know if prepaid return shipping is within NCAA rules?
