Cam Newton (QB New England Patriots)

Stay tuned - there should be a Nick Fairley interview in the next couple of hours.

At least Fairley is lining up next to one of the smartest guys in the league right now, LOL....can't say the same for sCAM....

On another note....was glad to see my boy Prince go to a halfway decent team (if they can get their punter to kick balls out of bounds, LOL) and was quite pleased that Heyward went to an excellent team as well.

Now - I don't curse much, but this one had me saying, "WHAT IN THE FUCK?!??!"

1 Carolina Panthers Cam Newton QB
2 Denver Broncos Von Miller LB
3 Buffalo Bills Marcell Dareus DT
4 Cincinnati Bengals A.J. Green WR
5 Arizona Cardinals Patrick Peterson CB
6 Atlanta Falcons Julio Jones WR
7 San Francisco 49ers Aldon Smith DE
8 Tennessee Titans Jake Locker QB

Yep, Tennessee has new leadership. Looks like the boys at ESPN got their wish. And as soon as he was picked, folks from ESPN were all over comparing him to Farve (same passing percentage out of school, yada yada).

Yeah....along with that...same decision making too?

And then, there's this:

http://blogs.nfl.com/2011/04/28/kirwan-locker-could-be-next-steve-young/

NEW YORK - Jake Locker, and not Blaine Gabbert, was the second quarterback taken in the 2011 NFL Draft, as the Titans provided the first true surprise pick at eighth overall.

Taking Locker with such a high pick proved two things: One, the Titans didn't believe he would be available later; and two, they are convinced he can develop into a true franchise quarterback. Anything less than that conviction would seem to make Locker a questionable eighth pick. Very few had Locker going above the No. 25 pick to the Seahawks.

"Locker clearly won the evaluation over Gabbert for the Titans," NFL.com analyst Pat Kirwan observed. "The Titans need to get Kerry Collins ready to start next season, because Locker isn?t ready. (The Titans know) that Locker will need a year or two on the bench to develop.

Okay...and wait for it....wait for it....

"They might be getting the next Steve Young if everything works out right. That's his top end."

What do you guys think that sCam is thinking standing next to the Commish?

I think a nice caption would go along with this:

I hope their play calling is numbers 1 thru 50. I cant wait to hear about his favorite play # to run....hmmmm. This guy is a freakish athlete, much like Pryor, who has no idea how to run a pro style offense or read a defense. This guy is the hyped up national championship winner who will get exposed something terrible in the NFL and Pryor will play TE.....lol.

It may be my Buckeye glasses but Cam seems fake as hell....talented none the less. Watch the show with him and Gruden and then justify how you take him number one. He is a notch or two below Vince Young. Go Bucks

LOL - Looks like the Saints just won their division. How ironic it will be that a Tide player will run all over the Panthers when they do it.

By the way....his new boss, Jerry Richardson? Well...

Here's the old story for those who may not have read it back a few months ago. This is Cam's new boss, LOL: http://www.stampedeblue.com/2011/2/...ichardson-insults-peyton-manning-incurs-wrath

"Jerry Richardson . . . he’s going to criticize Peyton Manning and Drew Brees and their intelligence in our meeting Saturday?" Feely said. "And sit there and say dismissively to Manning ‘Do I need to help you read a revenue chart son? Do I need to help break that down for you because I don’t know if you know how to read that?’"

"[Richardson] was extremely condescending to them, especially toward Peyton," an unnamed source told Cole. "[Richardson] was the only person on either side who was contentious. Everybody else was respectful. They might have said, ‘I disagree with your point,’ but at least they were respectful. [Richardson] was not."
For example, when Manning was talking about player safety, Richardson reportedly said, "What do you know about player safety?"

LOL - Enjoy your 15 minutes of fame, sCam.

Gruden tried to warn Newton that Peyton was looking to kick his ass...LOL
Now he'll find out first hand.

Dumbass probably thinks he'll beat Peyton in that game. As much as I don't like the Colts, I hope their defensive line runs him into the turf all game long. If I can find decently priced tickets, I might even go just so I can laugh at his failure.

Temporary stay expected, ESPN retracts report that stay was granted

Posted by Michael David Smith on April 29, 2011, 2:12 PM EDT
AP

In the fluid situation that is the NFL labor mess, mistakes are being made - including a big one in the ESPN report that we cited just moments ago.

During the 1 p.m. Eastern SportsCenter, ESPN broke in with an on-screen graphic saying, "BREAKING NEWS: Court grants temporary stay of players' injunction, reinstates NFL lockout."

With that graphic on the screen, ESPN?s John Clayton reported that "The doors are going to be closing very, very quickly."

But during the 2 p.m. SportsCenter, ESPN changed its graphic to, "DEVELOPING STORY: Court expected to decide whether to grant temporary stay of players' injunction, reinstating NFL lockout."
Clayton also changed his reporting to say that the decision hadn't come down yet.

"Well, a stay at least is still being decided by the Eighth Circuit Court," Clayton said. "A decision, according to sources in the clerk?s office, should come down this afternoon."

My own guess is that someone in ESPN?s newsroom saw the report from Michael Silver of Yahoo that we referenced in our previous item, and that the report was misunderstood: Silver's report said that the players expect the owners to get the stay, not that the stay had actually been granted.
So we'll keep our eyes on the latest developments. And we'll try not to jump the gun.
