I believe they try to do that with most all-star games, not just McDonalds or basketball for that matter. One thing that I did notice is that there are 4 big men on each team and the two best are on the west, Monroe and Mullens.

Mullens, Buford React To McDonald's All-American Selection

B.J. Mullens


B.J. Mullens and William Buford will represent Ohio State in the 2008 McDonald's All-American Game, which will be played March 26 in Milwaukee. Mullens, a 7-1 center, is ranked as the No. 6 prospect in the country by ESPN. Buford, a 6-5 shooting guard, is ranked as the No. 11 prospect in America. Bucknuts has reaction from both Mullens and Buford on their latest honor.
