Because they're playing against NFL defenses?
but they are running behind NFL lineman...defense should not matter according to the previous argument.

yeah... except that by that logic, SDSU has an NFL caliber defense... which has already been proven to be untrue by the fact that both UCLA and Air Force put 40+ on them...but they are running behind NFL lineman...defense should not matter according to the previous argument.

If there are three NFL starters on a college team's offensive line
Step and Bentley were monsters while at tOSU...Olivea played in spurts. Adrien Clarke is with the Eagles...The fact that Stepanovich, Olivea, and...(who's the other one? I know Bentley is starting for the Saints) are on NFL rosters does speak to the fact that something was wrong while they were here.
but then he also goes on to say..."tOSU could put me in the backfield for 100 yds."Just as a referee, Buckeyeboy wrote (added emphasis):
As no NFL running back is on a college team, the question of why NFL backs don't all get 100 yards is moot.
:)
At the same time, if there are three NFL starters on a college team then there are some big issues there that the NCAA will have problems with. . .
As to whether or not a college team with 3 lineman who will eventually play in the NFL should always have a 100 yd/game back. . .
those same OL looked pretty darn good with MoC back there...
but then he also goes on to say..."tOSU could put me in the backfield for 100 yds."
Therefore, assuming that Buckeyeboy is not an NFL quality back yet could still gain 100 yards behind an NFL line against top-flight D1 talent, I would say my question of why an NFL quality RB with 5 NFL-caliber OL in front of him not gaining 100 yards per week is a valid question.
NFL caliber lineman playing in college are, theoretically, of a higher caliber than the average college caliber lineman. To extend the argument to the NFL, you must choose a term besides simply NFL linemen. Perhaps you would say Pro Bowl linemen. Then I would say that a team with three Pro Bowl caliber linemen should be able to produce a consistent 100 yard rusher.
So you're telling me that Lydell Ross could gain 100 yards/game behind an NFL line?
