sorry, that was pretty bad english (the following may be as well). Some signings are apparently very strict about what they allow, including not letting anyone take pictures with their own cameras. (everett said that at another signing he was at, the guy stood up on the tables and announced that if people kept that up, the show would be shut down). Thinking back, I think a few of you might have been at that one, b/c it later got shut down early.

Kevin is great b/c if you want to take a pic with the players, he will let you (he took most of the pictures for them tonight).

Basically his show seems to be pretty laid back, which fits with a lot of the descriptions on this thread. No high pressure "you better not do that or I'm going to throw you out" type of stuff.

appreciate the kind words about the signing and past signings. went very smoothly I think. I like to think we do things a little different then most. We prefer to put the players into a low stress, relaxed setting. While there is a job to be done and money is changing hands, none of us are there without the game and I think the athletes & fans take something different away than the norm.

we do allow photos, no charge. Everyone does things there own way. I think it enhances the exprience.

Josh was correct in stating that this atmosphere lets the players inner beauty emerge. To listen to the players speak about their childhood, their HS & OSU careers, their families, their memories, their future, their goals; its a rare opportunity. It's not soundbites for the tv, 5 minutes on Buckeye replay, or a feature story in the paper, its the real person live smack and in front of your face. 60 minutes plus and no commercials. Most of time I find myself wishing they were still Buckeyes because I know I would pull for them a little harder after getting to know them better. You get to see the person not just the football player.

a tidbit or a measure of pride, but everyone we have worked with in the last two years has a clear plan for graduation w/in the next two years. That is a marked difference from another era and a testament to the character of the student athlete and direction that Coach Tressel has taken the program. They are not just talking the talking, they are hitting the books and getting the job done.

This year we delayed booking others as we watched the date with the linebackers switch twice before being split up. it was not for a lack of effort, contact, or timing. we we wish we had more notice and lead time to take everyone public, but circumstance, linebackers and opportunity delayed this. When presented with opportunity to have the first signings with Ashton, Donte & Nate this year, we did not hestitate and schedueled vs. first available date. Just as in the past, we consider it an honor and a privelage for us to have the first signing with someone. Right now we would like to get through each player in the fastest & most efficient manner albeit public vs private and will look to comeback later with a public for those we miss the first time through.

In reading through a few previous posts, as far as public vs. private. many promoters or stores rely on their public gate to pay for the materials, advertising & costs of a signing and make 65-80% of their money that night. As a wholesale distributor and online retailer, we do not rely on the public gate to do a signing. We have done at least one public signing w/ 80-85% of the NC Bucks. Traditionally we have done a number of privates to accomodate the players schedules as well as our own. When we are able to save money this way, we try to pass the savings onto the fans. At the same time, when we have more individual time with a player, we are able to do a wide variety of photos with a greater diversity of players.

One last sidebar, my personal linebacker item this year is a signed & inscribed Pat Tillman ASU jersey by AJ, Bobby, & Anthony. I am shadowboxing w/ autograph 8x10's of the four players and a script Ohio from Sun Devil Stadium. It will be a family heirloom.

Go Bucks

For those out of town folks, littledawg's business is a safe bet. The Mrs. ordered some stuff as a gift, it wasn't available yet, and he protected her secret until alternate arrangements could be made.

I hope to get some more stuff for the basement soon ...

I havent yet gotten AJ's, Ginns, Holmes, Smiths, Pittmans Autos Yet :( The year we won the Nat'l Champ. I went to like EVERY auto signing in NE Ohio...I havent been to one since. I got Doss' auto on my jersey that I had (#2 of course) and I put it up in a shadow box I made in H.S. It looks amazing with the Track Lighting My Parents have in their OSU Basement. BUT I WANT TEDDY'S AUTO!!! :(

I did too, along with most of them in Columbus...nice way to get all of the 2002 Championship season programs signed by the guys on the cover  I also got coach Tressel to sign his first game program for me (Akron 2001).

I only need Hartsock from the '02 programs, because he was still in school at the time. I've had a tough time getting that one.

Sorry, man. I have 3...a helmet, his first game program, and a football signed to me congratulating me on my PhD at OSU that my mentor (who has connections) got for me as a gift  The helmet I bought, and the program I got at what turned out to be the greatest single autograph opportunity I probably ever hit: the session before the 2002 spring game. It was crowded, but coming off of 7-5, it wasn't too bad. I got JT, Krentzel, McMullen, Ross, Hall, Frazier...a whole bunch of players on one helmet that ended up being my 2002 Championship helmet.

He's very personable and accomodating if you catch him (or at least he was when I saw him). I hope you get a few

I was at that 2002 "fan appreciation"/media day/auto graph session with my little brother and a younger cousin. We were about 5th in line and we were told that the large overhead door would be opened and we could just calmly walk to whichever player we wanted to get signatures from. Well, as the doors began to slowly open it was obvious that there was going to be no calm walk to our "favorite players", so I told my little bro and cuz (about 10 & 13 years old at the time) to stay with me and we were going to sprint over to MoC, then Zwick. "Look for #13...get to #13" I kept telling them.

Well my little brother ran as fast as he could, spotted #13 and was first in line to get his autograph...only it turned out to be Harlen Jacobs who was also #13 and seated right next to Maurice...he was a bit upset at the time, but maybe he ended up getting the better sig after all. :tongue2:

I do love the pre-season team autograph sessions though...So many high expectations, all the next "super star" Freshmen reporting for duty and experiencing some of the Madness that is tOSU Football and their Buckeye Fanatics, some for the first time. The 2006 Season can't get here fast enough for me.
