1st of all let me clarify something... If I were the Browns GM I would first take Derrik Johnson... you all have been questioning if he can stop runs right at him and I know that is one of his weak points however, that's why we move him from MLB that he played in college to OLB in the NFL. With his speed he can be devastating on the outside and won't haver to stop as many running plays right at him

About the QB situation... I would take Frye in the second round because then you could have the him as your potential franchise QB and the two Joshes would be your backup plans. I personally think Frye could turn out to be the best pro of all of the QB's in the draft

actually, DJ's perceived weakness would only be amplified more if you move him to an OLB in a 3-4. its the mlbs that ae to roam and make plays in that scheme.

I'm excited about this, although I think we may have to use the second round pick on him as opposed to the third round pick that I thought we could get him with. I maintain that the Auburn players in the draft (especially Brown, Williams, Rogers and Campbell) will be great pros.

One area of need for the Browns is quarterback. Auburn's Jason Campbell has a private visit set up with the team in the coming weeks. Campbell answered a lot of questions about his ability at the Senior Bowl and continues to improve his draft status after a solid performance in the school's pro day workout last week. Campbell is an alumnus of Steve McNair's quarterback school, which he attended early in his career. He fits the mold that head coach Romeo Crennel covets.

The Browns need a stud defensive player in the first round.
If Frye is available in the second round I would snatch him up.
I think he will be the best of the QB's from his class.

I have seen him play a dozen times over the past 4 years.
He has done great against superior opponents, while having no running game, no o-line, and with the exception of 2-3 receivers over 4 years, they too were average.

I think he will be a star in the future.

frye probably wont be on the board at #34 when cleveland picks in the 2nd.

hopefully cleveland trades down to amass at least an additional 2nd rounder

Are you sure he wasn't playing for the Browns during that time because that sounds just like them.

I too would prefer to drop down and pick up some more choices, but I really do not know how likely that is. If we defense with the number three pick I would like to see someone like Rolle.

Yeah, it does sound familiar. But I really think he will be an NFL success.
They need so much help. O-line, D-line, LB.
I hope they can find some diamonds in the rough.

How about Edwards??

How about Braylon Edwards??? The Browns really in my mind have no playmaker

at WR. I think the Browns picked up Dilfer to get them through the season and

go for a top QB next draft. You can get defense and O-line in free agency.

Edwards gives you a play maker with all the tools and will open up the run for

Suggs. He will also be a weapon for the next Browns QB they get in the 06

draft. I"m not a Browns fan but I can see them on a 2-3 plan just based

on what they have done so far. Trading down is best but this year's draft

I don't see alot of takers.

I was thinking maybe they picked up Dilfer to let a young QB watch and learn for a year. Question is, who will the young one be? I would like to see Josh Harris get a shot.

If I had to take a Qb this season I would go for Alex Smith. I just don't like

this class of QB's this draft. Let's face it The Browns need alot. Stock up on

picks is not sexy but I would really try that option first. Josh Harris is just too

much risk for the Browns front office. Josh comes from the MAC which some

of the front office men will think is a risk. Yes I know about all the upsets the

MAC has had in last couple of years but day in and day out Harris has not

played against the Big Boys and due to the Couch failure the next drafted

Browns QB needs to be perceived as a no brainer forsure and there just no

one in this draft like that.

It is very unlikely that the Browns draft a receiver on the first day, as that is one position Romeo has said he feels good about. Andre Davis is a playmaker when healthy, Antonio Bryant is a prototype #2 and Northcutt is dangerous in the slot. You don't stockpile weapons that you can't use...and Dilfer doesn't have the ability to use them.

If, for some reason, we do decide to take a receiver...I believe it has to be via trade. With all the talk of the Chargers moving up to #1, Braylon could likely be gone by #3. If we trade down...I hear we like Troy Williamson.

The Browns are getting lucky actually. With the possible San Francisco trade, everyone is saying San Diego would pick Braylon Edwards. In addition Cedric Benson ran a Clarett like 4.6 on his pro day. I can see Cedric drop pass the top 10. That leaves only 2 premium RB out there.

This will create more trade opportunities to get out of the #3 pick. Imagine if Braylan goes #1 and Ronnie Brown goes #2. If you want one of the top RBs or WRs you have one each left and if you are Minnesota or Arizona then you seriously have to consider trading up to get the guy you want.

Of course if the Browns trade down to #7-#10 I can see Williamson becoming a big target. Heck, for those that want QB what if we can still get Smith/Rodgers there? Also if Barron is still there (Tennessee at #6?) this is the area you can pick a Tackle. A ton of options open up.

With the 2nd round pick I love Jason Campbell at that spot. He is becoming the consensous 3rd rated QB, which means we have to hope and pray on draft day he falls into the 2nd round.

What can I say, I just love how the new front office is going about this offseason. They are filling in needed positions and leaving us a wildcard in the draft. I have read many draft pundits that have no clue what the Browns will be doing. I love it!
