Brian "Body Kount" Kelly (HC Louisiana State)

actual enrollment restrictions

This is always cap. Every DIA school waives their scholastic demands for athletes.
The rare exceptions are places like Northwestern and Vanderbilt -- and even they still lower the bar.

Even the service academies, where they can't legally just hand it out... find loopholes for athletes they want, namely the "Preparatory" school associated to each of them.

so now that the dust has settled, my thoughts.

was not in my top handful because, let’s be honest, you don’t just take a Notre Dame coach from them.
it’s been 114 years since one has left for another job (rather than retiring or getting canned)

obviously haven’t followed him as closely as people here probably did due to the regional thing, but his résumé is phenomenal.
far and away better than anyone we’ve ever hired before (at time of hiring).

hasn’t won the big one yet, but let’s not act like he’s on level playing field there.
try talking kids into going to Notre Dame these days.
it’s not like it was when they were the only school on TV every week.
now everybody is on TV every game.

South Bend is a small town with shit weather and strict catholic rules and actual enrollment restrictions.

Baton Rouge hit 80° today. And we’ll take anyone with an IQ above freezing.
And we’re all alone in the state that produces more NFL talent than any other per capita.

i have all the confidence in the world that he can be our 4th straight coach to win a Natty.
Calling bullshit on the recruiting thing. You instantly have a leg up on every brainwashed Catholic kid. And they let people in if they can play the foosball like anywhere else. They aren't Stanford.

They have a major city in Cincinnati that is full of these fucks. They are the same kids rocking ND gear in the fall that switch to UK or UC gear in winter/spring for basketball.

Stanford isn't Stanford. After Rosen made some comments on the subject, I saw a list of PAC average football player SAT scores posted. Stanford was right around 1050. Justin Fields had offers to Harvard and Yale with a 29 ACT. During their unionization campaign, the Northwestern QB said that he would have had zero chance of getting in had he applied as a regular student.

Notre Dame goes after the exact same kids we do.
