Thank you much. I don't see 1, 3, or 5 happening. Schiano would be a great stopgap from Hoke to a truly great coach for them, but he wouldn't be a truly great coach. Dan Mullen is the one on the list I would focus the most on after harbaugh, who I suppose you at least have to try to go for. His floor should be an 8-4 a year coach with what he's done at MSU, but he could potentially turn out to be a poor man's UFM. A Bo to Urban's woody, which we can all agree on that while Bo was a good coach, he most surely was just a poor man's woody. And yes, I do realize that sounds funny.

1. Ain't happenin' for lots of reasons not the least of which is the giant shit sandwich both sides would have to eat to cover over Harbaugh's flame job on Michigan academics. Oh, and the guy has a full time job through December, possibly through January as well.
2. A very real possibility and probably available at Black Friday prices.
3. If Les can't find a QB in Dixie, what makes anyone believe he can find one in Big Ten Country? He's already turned the job down at least twice.
4. Possible, but I would think that a coach at LSU, MSU, Auburn, Ol' Miss, Alabama would think twice before going to a school where academics ARE a hindrance to certain levels of your recruiting, where the media, the police and the state gov are going to investigate how you operate your program.
5. You want to start a civil war within the state? Dantonio would come down and burn your library and carry off your women.

#2 is possible.
Think Florida has dibs on #4. Otherwise Mullen uses the interest to sign a very lucrative extension. No way he leaves the recruit-rich and flexible rules of the SEC for that shit show. They'll have to offer Harbaugh money to pull him.
#5 may be one of their best options within budget, and one of the few that concerns me. But I don't think they can swallow their pride, and I'm not sure he'd bite anyway.

More realistically I see guys like Butch Jones, Mark Stoops, McElwain, Bud Foster. They don't really have links to anybody worth considering though... and not sure how some of those people would approach a dumpster fire w/high expectations that turned fast on the last outsider (whose since proven he's not a bad coach at another smaller program). Butch would probably jump ship fast because he's likely to get fired in a year or two anyway. The others may hold out for better options.

I love that coaches would hold our from going to scUM for better options. That just shows how far they've fallen. What about JayPed? I think he would be a good fit for that shitshow.

I can see any of the coaches you mentioned, but in the same breath I see them all turning it down because it is all so screwed up. I think Butch has bought himself a good amount of time due to the dumpster fire he walked into between the last 2 coaches, and he's brought in some stellar recruiting classes that I doubt he does at scUM without the SEC pull. Stoops recruits the Midwest better than jHoke and pretty much every coach in the Big 10 not on the OSU staff, so I can really see him making the lateral move to scUM. But quiet as kept, I could honestly see Good OL Bert Bielema returning back to the Big 10. He has to see that he'll need a miracle to even finish in the top 3 in the sec west. And it'll only be a year or two more before the native get restless over winning only 1-2 conference games. Bert would bring a coach that we are already familiar with (and hate), and a recruiting ground he's familiar with. And a fan base and admin he could hype up in the same way jHoke did. I could see Bert continuing the whole "Ohio" schtick, and continuing the level of arrogance that the douche weasels believe they have. He is from and went to college in Big 10 country, so he knows the rivalry very well also. And best of all, he is just dumb (and smug) enough to think he can turn the program around

And that is why he's not going anywhere.

Isn't Jones on Super Secret Double Probation? Opppps, I'm thinking of Butch Davis - now there'd be a nice fit for Michigan, his emphasis on academics and all...

But back to Jones, the only spots where I see an SEC coach moving to the Big Ten are at Kentucky and Vandy.
