Pining for the RR days...oh boy:

In Michigan’s 67-65, 3-OT thriller over Illinois in 2010, Rodriguez pulled Robinson after a hard hit during the 3rd quarter. “He was dizzy and had a headache,” explained Rodriguez, extra cautious his star player might have a concussion. The context is even more important. Rodriguez entered that game 5-3 after 3 consecutive losses to #17 Michigan State, #15 Iowa and at Penn State. Under fire by the media before the season and intense scrutiny by Brandon during the season, Rodriguez pulled the most electric player in college football for his safety in a must-win game. He recruited Robinson, developed him, and above all protected him over his job. If only he was a Michigan Man too.

I kinda missed everything that happened... so can someone give me the cliff's notes on this whole Hoke/Zac Morris/Gardner Harmon deal?

I posted this earlier in the thread, but if you don't want to look back for it, here it is again. The article includes about a 6-minute video of the relevant events. If you forward to around the 2 minute mark, what I find interesting is that there are close-up shots of Morris. His leg has already been corkscrewed a couple times, he's limping, but his eyes are wide open and clear. Also, even limping, he can keep his balance. Not the case after the penalty hit.

There are apologists out there today for Brady (Mike & Mike among them--like ESPiN has never gotten anything wrong before.) But, what seems beyond argument, given the current level of awareness about the dangers of head injuries, is that Morris should have been removed and evaluated, not left in the game. If the coach and staff have to debate whether a player has a concussion or not, clearly there is a possibility that he does have one. And in that situation, he has no business being left on the field (for a hand off or otherwise) to allow the chance of an additional head injury to occur. Further, if he's injured enough to replace him, and multiple other options are available (including the referee trying to throw you a bone of a time out) there is no excuse for sending him back in. There was no guarantee, regardless of the intended play call, that he wasn't going to be hit again.

I'll add this note, too: I've seen some posts elsewhere online that anti-tsun fans are just piling on because we relish the further demise of the program. I'm pretty familiar with the concept of "be careful what you wish for." I understand there is the possibility, Murphy's Law being what it is, that they will end up replacing Hoke with a brilliant coach who brings the program back and becomes a challenge to the whole conference.

In this situation, I don't think anyone who fancies themselves possessed of integrity can afford to care about that. Hoke needs to go. We'll deal with the consequences of that departure when they come.

The beav is spinning. He continues to derisively call the angry mob the "torch-pitchfork frenzy going on."

Now ABC's out to get them!

BTW, that was amazing camera work on the part of ABC, they seemed to know exactly where to focus to find the keystone-elements ... Emmy-quality, to our huge embarrassment.

What an ass.

if anything, he needed guys in the box to call down and tell him Shane staggered, since on the sideline they were evidently shielded from it by all the players ... but as I say, the box in the new stadium is so far from the action that you can't even read the numbers up there - they'd have had to been looking at TV to see it
Jesus Christ, Tom.

I'm waiting for him to start finishing his posts with a hearty "BEAT RUTGERS!"
