Brady "XLLL" Hoke (Head Coach San Diego State)

I hate to defend that bandwagon-jumping douchebag... but... actually, it does.
Up til Saturday I viewed Hoke as a moron unqualified to coach a top flight program with high expectations. A fun punching bag who should've stayed at a Mid Major.
After, I see him as a negligently dangerous moron unfit to lead kids in any event at any level.

Making a head-woozy kid play doesn't constitute the entire list of reasons to lose respect for a coach, or a person. Read between the lines.
Gee, I guess Mike's being a Michigan fan would cause him to hold out some hope for his head coach, prior to this incident. :roll1:

Hoke's leaving a hurt kid on the field is far worse than his plain incompetence and idiocy.

Too easy.

Reposting this, because it has occurred to me that if Shane takes many more hits like the one last Saturday, he'll be on one of these buses for real.

See Gibbons, Clark, Lewan, etc. We're talking about different things than "plain incompetence and idiocy" and sub .500 records.
The quote by Mike that you referenced was:

I wouldn't let my two sons play for this fucking guy. I have zero respect for him, not only as a coach, but as a human being.

Mike was referencing Hoke's failing to pull Sugar Shane out after the hit. It was not about anything else.

Funny--I don't recall you saying this before Saturday.
Why would he? Prior to Saturday he didn't keep a concussed guy in, then say afterwards that he didn't know if he was concussed but that "he wanted to stay in there". That's actually admitting negligent incompetence, passing the buck, and blaming the kid for the staff not following concussion protocol, all at once...which is almost impressive if you think about it.

Guess Meyer was asked about potentially concussed players at his presser:

Meyer was asked if the staff is always able to be aware of players being injured on the field and he said his strength staff is always on top of that and they tell him immediately if anybody looks shaky.
