Thanks a ton for the post it is greatly appreciated.

I was kind of confused with people here's usernames changing all of a sudden and an exodus to the other site. I haven't visited the other site but was told it looks like BP. I guess I don't visit the other site out of respect to you and the other members here.

I'll be blunt, I thought the whole DiHard changing his name to Alan and All of a sudden becoming an "insider" was laughable. DiHard/Alan went from the biggest roid rager this side of Mili to a Christian Insider. One day he was making fun of peoples retarded siblings and the next he was an "Insider" whose deeply religious. I will admit though that he was a great addition with his inside analysis but it seems to me that a lot of the "inside" info. released here was already annonunced on other pay sites.

Just my two cents but I wish Alan the best and all of the other excellent BP posters that have helped develop that site but I will still be staying at BP.

BTW, is Alan done posting here I'm assuming?

While the breakaway groups may be successful in their own right...they never quite have the same feel of the original

Normally I would agree with this 100%, but then I think about how, most of the people here came from BN originally. I love BP because it is made up of the old BN members that I actually liked and always got along with. Move them all over here, leave the little kids and bullshit over at BN, all is happy with the world.

By the way, in my last post, I guess I might have sounded a tad harsh when I mentioned BII being about "money". Didnt mean to make it sound like that's the only reason Alan is doing i, but my point was, there is definitely a foundation there for financial gain, while that doesnt exist here. If you ask me to donate $50, hell yeah, sign me up. I will never, and have never refused that.

Clarity - Think of it this way. Going back to the "Not sure how to start this". I honestly cant think of another forum I have ever used where basically the owner of that forum would make a thread like this, with the well-being of all the members in mind.

I don't have anything to add that hasn't already been said. All you have to do is take a look at the latest Fundraising Drive for the new server to see how many people care about this site. There are plenty of other examples to use but the server is instrumental in this site going forward and many of BP's members contributed to make sure that happens.

Where else can you go to talk about Buckeyes, Figure Skaters and Paint Chips?

A lot of the problem with BN was that most of those A holes were protected because they were good for $9.95 a month or were potential customers. Hell, their premium board is called "Ask the Insiders", but guys like LloydSev and Believer72 were self-appointed Insiders. For the record, Sev doesn't bother me here at all(like he cares what I think), but I'm sure I'm not the only one who cancelled over there due to him and guys like him.

I was on BN from just about the beginning, and it was a lot like it is here now. Once things happen in either pay or secret forums, it isn't about fun anymore.

Thanks, Clarity for putting things out in the open. There wasn't any confusion on my part as to what was going on, and in a way, I'm glad it's happening. I was tired of some of the posturing that was going on around here, and in a way, I see it as addition by subtraction.

I don't really need that subscription stuff - or at least I won't until somebody starts charging a subscription to see the games. I enjoy following this stuff, but I'm not a superfan to the extent that I need to find out what color the gravy was on Johnny Recruit's mashed potatoes.

I really appreciate the atmosphere that has been cultivated here. I will not be going anywhere. This is my home on the internet, and I consider the people I encounter here to be a sort of family to me.

I got the same kick-in-the-gut feeling when I first saw BII - and that was even before they went to the latest lengths to export the BP aesthetic to their site. I thought it was good that Alan was doing his thing in a safe place, but it was plain even from the beginning to me that he was gonna springboard that place by co-opting BP. I am registered over there, but I do not plan on frequenting that site. I don't appreciate the way this is going down, and I haven't appreciated the way some of the people from that site have been selling their reporting in our forums. I don't mind links, but I don't like "Come over to BII and read about..."

With regard to what you said about our contributions being "dynamic", several weeks ago, I was made a moderator in the Recruting Forums. I had asked to be allowed to be somebody who stepped up and contributed but reading this has made me feel guilty for not pulling my weight around here since that time. Granted, this is a slow time for that sort of thing, and the people like 3yards who dig up the news do such a great job that it's kinda hard to find a good way to contribute with regards to that. I have been very busy lately - I work full-time, I go to grad school full-time, and I'm also in the midst of finding a new job and new apartment. I do have an opportunity to be a steward for this place though, and I need to start living up to that.

Thanks again Clarity for what you've done around here.

Well.. for the casual observer it may seem to be a close copy..

The biggest thing guys, is that I was handed vBulletin to install... not a problem... I installed it... hit up vBulletin.org for hacks and such, we then hit up the CPMS systems.. vBadvanced was the best out there for free..

It wasn't until after we installed it that we realized that BP had the same portal system.

But even before we had installed that, we had already decided that we would be coding our own special CPMS system for it... it needs a distinct professional look to it, that we just can't get with what is out there right now.

Anyways, as any techie in the world.. if it helps what I love, I will do it.. when I fix the reputation system, if Clarity is open to it, I would LOVE to donate that code to you guys.

Anyways, I will still be around here from time to time... but for now, I have way to much work to chit chat :)

WOW! After reading all of this it just proves the point as to what a great site this is! Clarity, always puting things into perspective and a Mod/ Admin. team that NEVER gets enough credit. I am a die-hard ND fan who at times gets a little to carried away on this site. I have gone to far at times with fellow posters here as have posters with me but the reason I enjoy this site so much is the many many personalites that make this site what it is. Putting it bluntly I have yet to find any ND site with as many personalites,threads, interesting off the wall topics or humor that is better than this site. My wife, wife , kids and friends all ask me what I see in this site well the answer is it is the best.

Clarity and all the Mods/ Admins my hat is off to ALL of you!

This is a sensitive topic, to be sure. But we're all Buckeye fans, and we're all here because of our love for the Buckeyes. Clarity, as always, has gone way above and beyond by putting all this in the open. I agree that it's the right thing to do. What I don't want to do is bitch about BII/SNG vs. BP or anything like that. This "change" over the weekend at SNG was definitely shocking....but BP is in no way threatened by any of this. The simple fact that this is BP says it all. Yeah, Clarity is steering this ship, but osugrad21 is giving him directions, and 3yards is manning the oars, and LJB has the compass....and on, and on, and on. The reason BP is such a great site is because you and I make it so. This site is what I make it, and that simple fact makes it by far the greatest out there.

Like others have mentioned, I personally am unwilling to pay any money for information. Others willingly throw down some coin to be the first to know...I am more than willing to contribute money, time, energy, research, etc. to something I love and enjoy...but don't make me pay, and don't treat me differently because I don't. Oh, yeah, Clarity, you don't. Damn I love this place.

I agree with everyone here. I joined BP a few months ago and was quite inactive till I started to look around more and saw all this place had to offer a month ago. I never would have imagined there to be a place where you could go that would be centered around tOSU but would offer so many other topics and discussions. Like many people here I am unwilling to be charged money to be a member of a group like this but I am always willing to make a donation in order to help foot a great cause (I know I don't have a medal but I donated a couple weeks ago). I tip my hat to Clarity and all the admins and mods that make this such a great place to be at and continue the great work! :biggrin:

To this point I've stayed out of the battle of the boards that is part of this site. It is apparent to me that some of the players here left Bucknuts on bad terms and started their own site. For that, I am grateful. I think the Planet is superior to Bucknuts, but I haven't felt the need to choose one or the other, so I still frequent both, for better or worse.

Now we have this BII/SGN thing, and I'm so out of the loop I don't even know what the hell "BII/SGN" stand for, although I think I could guess. The point is, I don't care.

It wasn't until after I realized that Alan was an asshole that I learned he was the poster formerly known as DiHard. What a coincidence - DiHard was an asshole, too. A leopard doesn't change his spots, folks.

I couldn't care less about DiHard/Alan/asshole's inside info, and I'm sure as hell not going to pay him a dime for it. As far as I'm concerned, the best thing that could come from it is his absence. As for LloydSev, the limited interaction I've had with him hasn't been much more impressive than his partner, so I care not a whit whether he has time to "chit chat" here, either. By all means, spend your time on "BII/SGN", and if you don't like my opinion I'm right here.

Like I said, I try to stay out of the board politics, but as long as Clarity is feeling apologetic, I figured it was time to let my opinions be known. I plan to stay here at BP, and I'll occasionally visit B'nuts, but I have no desire to visit any site run by DiHard/Alan/asshole, much less pay for it. I wish him luck. So much luck that he doesn't have time to come here and spew his nonsense.

Hang in there, Clarity. This site has been a plus for Buckeye fans, and I hope when the dust in your life settles you can be more involved here. And thanks for all you've done.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled programming...

Ok...I've read enough to get a general feel. I read it here...and I especially read enough in PM's to know I/we are not being over-sensitive here.

First off, let me say publically, Greg Powers/HighStreet is the best "insider" I have encountered in my experience on any college football-based board. He is truly a honest, thorough reporter who is there to adapt to the posters' desires. He WILL be successful and I hope he remembers me.

As for BII/SGN, many, many things could have been handled differently.,,,that much has been acknowledged. However, to me, loyalty is a major issue. Not promised loyalty, but proven loyalty. Why lie/deceive about anything? This is not directed at all of the staff, but those involved know....we would have supported you, why lie? Why deceive? Why throw Christianity in the mix when you are lying out the other side of your mouth? So many lies tend to trip up...especially when they are spread amongst various people. Yet....we are all supposed to trust you and give you money.

I'm sorry....but I have an issue here.

What about the $60?

What about your supposed date in WI?

Why hasn't JT baptized you?

What about Coop in the dairy aisle at Big Bear?

What about EVERYTHING???

Why don't things add up??

Take what you need...we will adapt and overcome. There are numerous contibutors who have not yet stepped forward...but they will. They will come forward out of love for the Buckeyes...not $$$. We are a community here....you can strive for that. You can try to copy that....but we all remember those you ridiculed who now design your realm...Chatty Cathy Doll? Yet now that Chatty Cathy is needed...well...you know how that works.

I am not a Born-Again Christian..nor am I a screaming to the world religious soul...yet I consider myself a moral human being. I will profess to know, that when I die, I will not take with me any possessions, connections, knowledge, or especially money....however, my soul will bear if I have been truthful...if I have been loyal to those who have helped me...

I don't need to proclaim my divinity in that...I know if I am living a good life.
