Big upgrades -- please let me know (here) if stuff's broken.

Do me a favor, go Click Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools, and then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) and see if the problem occurs with IE without addons.

Oh one more thing, to delete cookies/etc in IE7 go to tools -> Internet Options and in the browsing history button, click delete and it will bring up options on what to delete.

Did the no-addons thing. When the window came up, it said that IE was currently running without addons. Still no luck with the rep button. The last time I tried a quick reply, it didn't go thru, which may have been a good thing, since I'm a little drunk and it was in the poli forum.

Thanks for the tip on deleting stuff.

Hrm... well, it's not an addon, so it's something specific to the PC, you could try installing firefox (when you're sober :p) but I think you will have the same issue. It sounds to me like a firewall setting or maybe your antivirus, I will search tomorrow and see if anything turns up, it's just odd to me, I have 2 laptops at the house, 2 different pc's and countless PC's at the office and haven't been able to reproduce the error, so now it's going to drive me to investigate further tomorrow.

I'll let you know what I come up with, til then, good night.

I installed Firefox (alcohol consumption only adds to my abilities ), but no change. Tomorrow I'll try to post my firewall and antivirus settings. Thanks again for all the help!

Seems to be working now Clarity.

Clarity, i guess I spoke too soon about the problem appearing to be cleared up. When I logged in this morning the filter was reset to the default setting. I still have to manually change it to something other then the default.

I never upload the image folder when I'm doing a vB upgrade, because very few of ours are stock since somewhere around vB 3.0. So I'm not terribly surprised a few new ones are missing here and there. We'll get them online.

Skins, when you set your style, where are you doing it?

Also, just so everyone understands -- all this new social networking stuff and the other new changes. These aren't modifications, they're core changes to vBulletin. I didn't add any new modifications during this upgrade, in fact, I removed a few.

UPDATE: I've switched to Firefox for my browser. I checked my firewall and virus settings, and didn't see any red flags. There is nothing blocking jscript or vbscript. The rep button is still dead. When I put the pointer over it, the url is shown on the bottom border, but when I click, it just gets outlined in dotted yellow.

EDIT: still having same problems with quick reply (post goes thru, but page doesn't refresh), and edit (have to click button twice).

I'm not familiar with AJAX. I did have to reinstall Adobe Flash for Firefox, but it didn't say anything about other plug ins.

So it's AJAX that's not working for you then. Hm.
