Big Ten Power Rankings

UW has struggled against several "lesser" teams this year - Long Beach State (with coach Dan Monson), Iona, San Diego & now Idaho State. Not to mention that Virginia Tech win is probably overrated since the Hokies are 5-4 and have lost to all the "name" teams they've played (including an awful Georgia team).

It's possible that none of the preseason top-3 teams in the Big 10 end up in the top 3 at the end of the year, although ties are likely to prevent that from happening.

I have no idea what is going on with the Badgers but I cannot believe that Purdue and MSU will not be in the top three at the end of the season. Purdue has too much talent and Michigan State always improves as the season progresses.

ties

Hard to really sort out a lot of the middle this early. But I'm trying to look at who has been most impressive to this point. It's not entirely based on who is or will be the best team, but I look at who has put together the best resume so far. My list will surely change as Big Ten play starts here pretty soon.

Michigan
Minnesota
Wisconsin
Illinois
Iowa
Penn State

Only a couple of moves from last week. I was not impressed with Ohio State during the Butler game. I do realize that they had a hard road stretch right before this. I still thought they would be more up to the task, especially at home.

Bump

Got my ballot in. Still not drinking the kool-aid yet on TSUN, but they're gonna be a tough bunch in the Big Ten this year. I also have a feeling Iowa and PSU are gonna turn some heads when conference play starts. Sounds as though Wiscy's gonna fall on quite a few ballots this week after the way they played against Idaho State... (brace yourself Bernini!)
