Ok so just taking a look at the top 5 and the games that they all have left. I understand that the home team won't win all these games, and there will be some upsets at some point from teams not in the top 5, but here is what I am going with right now...I also count @ Ill and @ Minny to be semi tough games because they are tough places to play...

Indiana (6-0) Projected 15-3

L - Jan 31st @ Wisky
W - Feb 7th @ Ill
L - Feb 10th @ tOSU
W - Feb 13th vs Wisky
W - Feb 16th vs MSUW - Feb 19th vs Purdue
W - Feb 23rd vs tOSU
L - Feb 26th @ MSU

MSU (5-1) Projected 13-5

L - Feb 12th @ Purdue
L - Feb 16th @ IU
L - Feb 28th @ Wisky
W - Mar 2nd vs IU
W - Mar 4th @ Ill
L - Mar 9th @ tOSU

Purdue (6-1) Projected 14-4

W - Feb 2nd @ Ill
L - Feb 9th @ Wisky
W - Feb 12th vs MSU
L - Feb 19th @ IU
L - Mar 4th @ tOSU

Wisconsin (6-1) Project 15-3

W - Jan 31st vs IU
W - Feb 3rd @ Minny
W - Feb 9th vs Purdue
L - Feb 13th @ IU
W - Feb 20th @ Ill
L - Feb 24th @ tOSU
W - Feb 28th vs MSU
tOSU (5-2) Projected (15-3)

W - Feb 10th vs IU
W - Feb 24th vs Wisky
L - Feb 26th @ IU
W - Mar 1st @ Minny
W - Mar 4th vs Purdue
W - Mar 9th vs MSU

This is why I say it is a 5 team race...all teams have to still play each other quite a bit and so far the home teams have looked good so far in conference play...I will try and keep this updated from week to week...

CrazyBuck, I would love to see the Bucks go 15-3 in conference but I just don't see it happening. One more conference loss the rest of the way is asking a lot of this club, the consistancy just isn't there yet. They get on these cold shooting streaks on the road and it just kills them. Also, MSU teams don't finish Big 10 seasons that bad down the stretch. 5 losses in the Big 10 for MSU sounds a bit high @ this point. Wisconsin looked tough @ home against IU a few hours ago. I could definately see IU taking 4 more losses still in the big 10. They still have a tough schedule left and could lose to Pur, MSU or OSU @ home still. Thoughts?

College basketball roundup: Wisconsin weathers run by Indiana

Friday, February 1, 2008 3:14 AM

Associated Press

No. 13 Wisconsin 62, No. 11 Indiana 49 -- Trevon Hughes scored 16 points, Marcus Landry had 14 points and 11 rebounds and Wisconsin held on to beat Indiana in a Big Ten game last night in Madison, Wis., after the Hoosiers rallied behind D.J. White and freshman Eric Gordon.
White had his way with Wisconsin (17-3, 7-1) most of the game, finishing with 22 points and 17 rebounds. But Wisconsin's Michael Flowers, who scored 10 points, mostly contained Gordon, who fell awkwardly in practice Tuesday and was wearing a padded foam splint on his left wrist.

Minnesota 77, Michigan 65 -- Tubby Smith got his 400th win and Minnesota beat Michigan in a Big Ten game in Ann Arbor, Mich.
Lawrence McKenzie led Minnesota (13-6, 3-4) with 18 points and Dan Coleman had 17.

I know exactly what your thinking...I am just going off the home court holding serve...It has happened so far in the big games...Purdue @ home vs us and Wisky...MSU @ home vs. u, and Wisky @ home vs IU...

I am not saying that the home team is going to win every game, just looking at what would happen...

I think we as a team play much better at home, and I don't think it is out of the question to beat the top teams at home...

Evidently you missed his Oklahoma teams, which consistently performed above their talent level. IMO.
I guess we differ on that. I would like to know how deep Oklahoma went in the NCAA tournament when he was the coach. He couldn't even cheat and win.

Big Ten Insider: Purdue has fresh outlook

by Doug Lesmerises Monday February 04, 2008, 7:23 AM

Purdue's not the best team in the Big Ten. Right?
At 8-1, the Boilermakers do hold the top spot in the men's basketball conference standings at the halfway point, tied with Wisconsin and just ahead of 7-1 Indiana, but holding the edge thanks to a 60-56 home win over the Badgers. The second half of their schedule includes road games at Wisconsin (on Saturday), Indiana and Ohio State, but Purdue is something that Ohio State, for example, is not right now.
A young team clearly getting better.

The Boilermakers lead the Big Ten in starts by freshmen this season, with E'Twaun Moore, Robbie Hummel, JaJuan Johnson and Scott Martin combining for 63 starts so far. Penn State is next with 45 freshman starts, followed by the 44 of the Buckeyes, who have seen Kosta Koufos start all 22 games and Evan Turner follow Jon Diebler in another starting spot.

MIKE BEAS: Big Ten men's basketball not what it used to be

Hear that noise? It?s Big Ten men?s basketball, which presently finds itself spinning its wheels in what can best be described as a ?valley? year.
When the 2008 NCAA Men?s Final Four tips off April 5 inside the Alamodome in San Antonio, the league might be there, but it will be in spirit only.
A rarity indeed for the Big Ten, which in the 21st century alone has produced one national titlist (Michigan State, 2000), three tournament bridesmaids (Indiana in 2002, Illinois in ?05, Ohio State in ?07) and a total of seven Final Four representatives.
But even droughts travel in cycles.
This isn?t to say there aren?t good teams. There are. Five, in fact. Just not any comparable to the likes of Memphis, North Carolina, Kansas, Duke or UCLA.
Indiana, you say. Sweet 16 with a chance to travel deeper into March, but only if another scorer steps forward to ease the load Eric Gordon and D.J. White have thus far shouldered. White in particular needs help under the basket, and the obvious answer is 6-5 forward Jamarcus Ellis, who has shown potential but needs to be more consistent.

I watched most of the second half of the Iowa/Wisconsin game and Iowa is improving quite a bit. I don't feel so bad about our loss now except for the fact our RPI. Noticing Iowa's schedule for the rest of the season you would not surprise me to see them win six more games. It is boring but they get the job done... as we well know:(
