That professor may not have been wrong. Though, I don't know which school it was, or whether any might be worth $50M. But ESPN didn't feel the remaining schools were worth an average of $50M.
I really get annoyed when these reporters just say things and make it so no one can ever figure out if they're right or wrong. Which Pac-12 president? I mean, I can say that a Pac-12 president farts in his dog's mouth. But I can pretend to be a reporter, so I'm honoring his anonymity. I won't tell you which one. Now, something else is going to come out about a Pac-12 president and all people are going to do is wonder if that's the one who likes to fart in his dog's mouth.

Brett, as with many of your tweets, that one is a nothing.

The real moral here is that Kliavkof is a fool whose ineptitude saved him from his incompetence. Had he managed to get the regents to block UCLA's move, he would have been facing a pretty open-and-shut lawsuit for tortious interference in a billion dollar contract. Lawyers from the B1G, NBC, CBS and FOX would have rained down furious anger and great vengeance upon him.

Did Drake have any say in this?

First time posting. I’ve been thinking about expansion a lot. I don’t think the BIG is looking at this with a wide enough lens. Here are my thoughts.

Add the Ivy League schools (obviously not for FB competition). Gives BIG the NE market and they can play FB on Thursday and Friday nights.

Add the following non-football schools (helps with spring and winter sports out west. Think about playing non-“divisional” softball and baseball games there in the spring!
UC Davis
UC IrvinUC Riverside
UC San Diego
UC Santa Barbara
UC Santa Cruz?

Add
Kansas
UNC
Duke
UVa
Ga Tech
Tell ESPN if they want the basketball contract for the BIG they have to either let the ACC schools out of their current FB contract so they can be full time members in the BIG or tell ESPN they can keep the ACC schools under the FB contract if they meet the current TV deal $$$ and they can only broadcast their home games

Add
Vanderbilt -this school is too smart for the SEC

Non AAU members to possibly add
Va Tech
NC St

Other AAU possibilities
Pitt - but who really wants them?
TAM - screw with the SEC and Texas
Missouri - screw with the SEC
Miami and USF -get into the Deep South market and possibly take recruits from the SEC
Tulane and Rice - more southern exposure to screw with the SEC and give the lower tier BIG schools some wins

Still leaves Stanford, Cal, UFla, Texas as big school AAU members not in the BIG

And if you feel really nice Buffalo and George Washington are AAU too
