This tells me that Warren told them to shove their special treatment demands up their ass. Now, they're hitting the road and going from conference to conference to see who is weak enough for them to exploit. And how do you think the ACC feels right now?

Can you imagine them having to settle for what's left of the B12 as their home? OMG, that's a better ending than them in the ACC.

They aren't looking to join the Big 12, they are looking to see if NBC will offer them $75 million per year, if NBC can also show Big 12 games, in which case they will remain independent. Right now, the offer of B1G membership is about 80 million. I think this Big 12 ploy only has a slight possibility of working if the Big 12 and Pac 12 merge.

I keep hearing Virginia as a potential B1G add, but I don't see it. It's a great university, but what does their football program bring to the table? To me, they seem like Kansas east, which is another university the B1G should leave alone.

The money to be earned from academic and research integration with certain institutions would dwarf tv revenue massively. That's why Stanford would still be a big time addition.

Feels like a strategic leak to put pressure on the B1G. No way that NBC is giving them $75 million for 7 home games paired with Baylor vs Kansas. But I agree that it sounds like Warren told them to fuck off with any special demands, which is where he'd actually start to earn some respect.

I don't think ND can put pressure on the Prom Queen to put out by flirting with one of the ugly girls at the dance.

I believe that there were rumors on twitter that they had also made outlandish demands on the ACC, which makes me think they know that they need to either come up with a deal in which they get lopsided concessions from a second rate conference, or they will need to join the B1G because the money is too sweet. If true, the ACC seems to have told them to fuck off too.

Never underestimate the arrogance and self-reverence that the kiddie diddlers who run that place have for themselves. What seems outlandish to a rationale outsider, seems perfectly reasonable to the domers, and I'm sure they were sincerely shocked when Warren told them to go fuck themselves.

Don't forget increasing desperation to keep up and continue to get their asses kissed at the same time.

Giving the Domers a sweetheart deal doesn't do anything to save the ACC and I think even they have to see it at this point. Let them frantically look for a partner and come crawling back in 2 months.

If I'm a Domer arguing the case, I'd go with this: "We're the only team in college football that can bring the Philly to Boston corridor to the table, and we outdraw Northwestern, Illinois, and Purdue for the Chicago market." That can be argued by the Big Ten, but I think it has some validity.

Meh, the Chicago market is so full of B1G flags that the incremental draw they have here when playing a B1G is likely marginal. NW, IL, PU? Those folks are watching their games anyhow. I will give you the non-B1G Catholic crowd tho... but they're drunk and asleep by the 2:30 (central) game slot anyhow.

All the data I've seen has them between 4th and 9th depending on the year for overall total tv viewership. Last year, they had 1 game in the top 10. If their reach is so wide, then numerically it can't be very deep in those markets. $75M for 7 home games, no road games, no conference championship game and no basketball is literally an insane ask, and with Dick Ebersol long gone, I'd bet that NBC is laughing in their faces.

And FWIW, their road games at USC should be 10PM EST games on the BTN. We should be done playing games with these fucks and just get down to the scorched earth phase, which means that no B1G school other than USC should ever schedule them in anything.

Chicago isn't what it once was regarding ND. All the grandchildren and great grandchildren of the subway domer Poles, Italians and Micks have developed college allegiances distinct from their Catholicism, or they just focus on the NFL these days. The current Catholic wave of immigrants (Latin American and Polish) follow soccer.
