Who is this idiot and why does he hold his cellphone so close to his face?
It's really unflattering when your head is shaped like a potato.

I did literally laugh out loud at this. But he is the guy who was talking about USC and the Big Ten in March or April. He's either got legit sources or managed to get something really big to stick to the wall. Make your own decisions about which is true.Who is this idiot and why does he hold his cellphone so close to his face?

Boston College then. Piss off the Irish by scooping up another Irish Catholic school in good media market.
I think this depends on what their options are and what the contract they're asked to sign looks like. Maybe the SEC is an option, but I don't think so. If Oregon and Washington, for instance, are told they're not getting a B1G invite at least until the next TV contract in 6 years, or whatever it may be, they may be willing to sign a GOR for 6 years if the money is better than the Big 12.The timeline he's suggesting is assuming that any of the PAC teams want to tie themselves to their sinking ship of a conference with another GOR, outside of Washington St, Oregon St, and maybe Cal. I think that's a hard sell to the majority of their schools at this point. No one is gong to want to make it harder for themselves to leave the conference for more money elsewhere while the ship is sinking
No idea what leverage they may have had. He did post another video (@Dryden look away) that said USC and UCLA are going to be full partners day 1. That's a better deal than what Nebraska, Maryland, and Rutgers got who had to "buy in" to network ownership with reduced payouts for 6 or so years. So they had more bargaining power than those three (or KW is a much worse negotiator than Delaney. Equally possible). What leverage did USC have? As I understand it, they neither asked for nor received any special treatment. FOX called them and told them to pack their fucking bags.

Difference with Kansas is that UVA solidifies the mid-Atlantic region from Virginia to Connecticut. UVA is a top 4 public university, and Kansas is barely clinging to their AAU membership. Virginia is a top tier recruiting area; Kansas is crap. UVA has a nationwide alumni presence (really strong in DC and NYC) while Kansas is a regional school. A UVA/UNC package is an absolute no-brainer, and UVA alone is still skrong.

We could take Duke and Kansas as basketball only schools, and make them drop football.Yeah, if we only consider football, it’s a head scratcher. When looking through a wider angle lens, it’s more clear. Academics, geography, basketball and of course, lacrosse. UVa and UNC scratch each of those itches. I don’t know how we pull UNC without Duke being involved in some manner. I’ll gladly watch ACC lacrosse crumble to pull Duke into the fold.
Obviously, ND LAX is also a big deal… but fuck ‘em.
I’d love nothing more than pulling UVa / UNC and then balance geography for USCLA with Oregon and Washington.
