That's disgusting. There is absolutely no reason we should be accepting associate members.

I mean...they will be conference members for all of their D-1 sports just like every other big ten school. Call me biased because I want to see the big ten teams compete together in lacrosse, but I don't see the big deal.

John Hopkins is trying to have their cake and eat it too....

What's the point of having cake if you can't eat it?

I would prefer to see the Big Ten be the same teams in all sports, but this really isn't going to affect me regardless. Welcome, Johns Hopkins.

It was just a Gordon Gee reference about his Notre Dame comments. Agree, this isn't a big deal either way - At least for me.

Eh, it allows more programming for BTN without giving up anything substantial. It's not like Johns Hopkins gets a slice of BCS money, right?

Also, I smoked weed with Johnny Hopkins. Him and Sloan Kettering. We blazed that shit up!

this also is a bit of a deal sweetener to schools like UVA and UNC who both have LAX programs...especially UVA. something to think about at least....it would be hilarious to see the Big Ten swoop in and chop the ACC (and Ntre Ame) off at the knees, especially this close after Gee told the truth about Ntre Ame's leadership.

Which should help. As I understood the article it leaves the BIG just one team short of an automatic qualifier to the NCAA championships.

The lacrosse culture at JHU is just unbelieveable, and we really can't relate to it in the Midwest. They eat, sleep, and live their lax out there. In addition to Maryland, it's a perfectly logical step since the B1G is trying to be a player in every single sport rather than just football and basketball. I like the move, and am looking forward to catching a game or two up in Baltimore.
