Oh you are right, the alumni association and many of the older wine and cheese crowd really had nothing nice to say but many of the people my age (class of 04) had a lot of fun with it.

sure there were some shouting matches and big dick contests, but its always fun when everyone loves football. which is why im not the largest fan of the pac 16

That sounds about right.

BTW - Did you happen to travel to the 05 game with some OSU fans who were working in Austin at the time?

The Texas fans that I met that were at the game in '05 were pretty nice to us. Then again, I was in a conspicuous uniform the entire time and pretty much had to be nice. I was swearing up a storm on the way home, though... gave the entire "good game" speech to everyone and then wondered what would've happened if Troy had been in that last series... but VY was magical.

I seriously hope that this comes through... UT and TAMU with Nebraska, then get ND and Mizzou for a nice conference that out-classes everyone academically and athletically.

Here's some info a BP poster got from a source at SEC school -

The SEC is currently talking to Oklahoma, aTm, VaTech, and North Carolina - they know that Texas won't be coming, but are reacting to the growth of the Pac Ten and Big Ten.

This would keep the dominos falling, with the ACC's reaction being to raid the Big East.

Saw this on WildcatReport:

From the RU board: per espn radio Reply
texas a&m and vatech to the sec.

Van Pelt saying "sources have informed him" that these two to the SEC.

North Carolina may be one school that wouldn't move due to Basketball. Does anyone really see them leaving Duke behind?

No, nor Wake, or NC State.

They can stay and be a premiere FB school, especially if their expansion adds WVU, UConn, maybe Cuse, Pitt, etc.

I'll take Texas and Nebraska over aTm and VT any day.

I think that the NW board had it right. I really don't see aTm and UT splitting up because of the amount of money at stake from the PUF. We are talking about billions in oil money and a split would create a large amount of political tension.

I saw that rumor/report early this afternoon, and dismissed it out of hand because ESPN has clearly been behind the curve the entire time on conference expansion.

I really don't see UNC leaving the ACC. I also don't see aTm and Texas being split. I think if the rumors about the two Texas schools going to the Big Ten are true, Oklahoma & VT to the SEC become fairly likely.
