The split would likely be...

Nebraska - Iowa
Wisconsin - Minn
Missouri - ILL
Texas - Aggy

Ohio St - Michigan
Penn St - Mich St
Indiana - Purdue
NW - ND / Rutgers

Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan, and Notre Dame on the same side seems too loaded to me, seems like it pretty much gives Texas the west each year

I honestly doubt they'd screw with the Ohio State-Michigan game... You can't mess with a rivalry that's competed against the likes of Yankees-Red Sox, Alabama-Auburn, and Army-Navy....

The Game will never again be the same the day they announce the 12th member and a future B10 CCG.

You can't send OSU or UM to the west.
OSU-PSU is your current premiere game. Can't spoil that, or the great rivalry they've had for 15 years

You might be able to send ND west, but then what happens to ND vs UM? MSU? Purdue? Do you accommodate the first only with a guaranteed game?

I agree. Also, Texas being tossed into the conversation is basically an acknowledgment that geography doesn't matter. Why not just do it semi randomly. Keeping obvious rivalries together

Good points, let Texas have the West, maybe that's what convinced them to join.

If the Texas/aTm thing happens, I think the last two spots should be offered to ND and either Maryland or BC. If ND comes, I don't think Rutgers brings as much to the table as Maryland or BC in terms of TV markets.

I think Delany's ideal scenario is to have the Big East collapse from the domino effect, without the Big Ten taking any Big East teams directly, but the collapse will force ND into the Big Ten.

HL, how ya'll doin?

We had two years of Spring 05 through Fall 06 interaction with Texas fans, by far our best visitors here. I'm excited to watch them filter back through :banger:

Yeah Fall of 06 was great and the UT people were very gracious , from what I can remember. I don't know if High Lonesome can back this up but from the UT alumni I've talked too, they wont be to happy to go back to Columbus.

well there were certainly some horror stories but most of my friends rate it in their top 3 non-championship road trips

Honestly your the first person I've heard that has had something good to say... Most others I know a couple people that work for the alumni association were appalled at how they were treated. I was tailgating for both the 05 & 06 games, I didn't think we were THAT rowdy :) thanks for confirming that we might not be that bad of fans :)

Oh you are right, the alumni association and many of the older wine and cheese crowd really had nothing nice to say but many of the people my age (class of 04) had a lot of fun with it.

sure there were some shouting matches and big dick contests, but its always fun when everyone loves football. which is why im not the largest fan of the pac 16

You have no idea how much I wanted to believe some of these stories weren't true. I ended up w/ 4 tix to the game and I went along w/ my dad, his UT business associate and a friend of mine. I never saw anything bad happen on Friday night when I was in downtown cbus or at the game other than some good natured fun and a little booing. The booing was even done in a jocular manner.

I still wish that some stories weren't true....

But to keep this on track... PBC's latest

Delany is a genius.

Like I said, I have enough information here to write a book, which I intend to do. This isn't a this week thing, this isn't a last year thing, this is a process that has played out for over a decade.

JoePa has played a huge part in this. That guy...

Chip actually does have some pretty good sources(he is a former news paper guy) but after he went on Sports Center yesterday I doubt he will be kept in the loop as closely until this thing ends.

no one wants to show all their cards till they have to

Definitely a different kind of a very high stakes "texas hold'em" poker game.
