I believe between Ken Starr's sermon that fell upon deaf ears, the Pac 10 thumbing its nose at Baylor and inviting CU anyway, and the general derision and hate-mail directed at the Baylor degree holding politco (and the 14 politicians names that he cc:ed in the email that wound up on the net) the members of the Texas legislature are on notice: Nobody wants your Tier 3 institutions.

I thought Baylor, despite its religious affiliation, actually had a very good undergraduate program.

well, if this thing actually wen't down yall might get to see the real thing a bit more often.

I have to say though, i am a little sad that college football as I know it isn't likely to ever be again

the Big 12 in its current incarnation wasn't around that long... right?

What is the general reaction to this down there?

That's my bad. That is correct. I was confusing Baylor with Okie St. Okie St and Tech are rated as Tier 3 in the 2010 USNWR, not Baylor (#80).

Things aren't slowing down enough to really consider that proposition - but I tend to agree.

I am so wrapped up in seeing the Big Ten come out ahead on this deal that I lose sight of what we are doing. Busting chops over who has the biggest dick is half the fun in CFB.

If (and I am still not buying the KC report) the Big Ten gets Texas and the PAC 10 does not at least get OU we are living in a two conference universe.

No the big 12 hasn't been around long but it still felt like home. the big ten or pac whatever just isn't really the same...

change is good and in this case needed...i just really hope things like the aTm thanksgiving game and Red River Shootout don't get messed with.

Besides accomodating such a big free agent, they want as many late year ratings as they can get.

With the shift to super conferences (and possibly champion based playoffs), I think there's a good chance you could play Oklahoma in an exhibition game OOC.
