North Carolina may be one school that wouldn't move due to Basketball. Does anyone really see them leaving Duke behind?

I'll put a V-bet down that no one from the Real ACC - minus FSU and Miami-- wants anything to do with SEC football or Kentucky B-Ball. The core ACC is a fine academic/basketball and a 35 to 50K stadium football program conference. they don't get into trouble with the NCAA and they want to keep it that way. I doubt they'd shed any tears if the two football schools shipped out.

What's a ESPN got to do with the Wildcats forums that I quoted?

This is the part of your post I was referring to:

From the RU board: per espn radio Reply
texas a&m and vatech to the sec.

Van Pelt saying "sources have informed him" that these two to the SEC.

I thought you had pulled that from the NW board (themselves having pulled it fromt the Rutgers board), but maybe I read your post wrong and misquoted.

This all needs to end.. otherwise the unemployment rate is gonna go up exponentially, and the amount of work hours lost will dwarf when google made their logo the pac-man game

Everything is still convinced Pac 10 for UT (and Tech per their insider on 104.9 just now) ... A&M might go to the SEC... I just don't see it.

from an email (not a cool, top secrect grad21 email though):

790 the Zone in Atlanta reported Thursday afternoon that the SEC is offering invitations to Texas A&M and Virginia Tech to join the conference.

a second...

VT fans pretty torn apparently on SEC vs. ACC. Obviously SEC for football is unbelievable, but academic rep sucks.

This whole thing stinks of a charade, Texas and A&M already know where they are headed. I think Nebraska, UT, and A&M have been working together with the Big Ten for some time to separate themselves from the other Texas schools.

I would be shocked if they didn't know the Pac-10 would eventually try and make a move for the whole Big 12 south, it's the only option for them to become a viable super conference.

Chip was being used to make it look like UT was panicking about a Nebraska departure when they knew all along what was going to happen.

edit: but keep it quiet...

PBC's latest... don't quite know what to make of it... someone has asked if that is b/c Nebraska is considered as in and we will see what the response is...
Wow. Update.

Big Ten targeting only Texas and ND as of this afternoon, pending the outcome of A&M's status with the SEC.

Tomorrow will be a big, big day in college sports.

This would make some sense if 14 b/c the SEC is talking about only adding 2 of VT, OU, UNC and Tamu. The the PAC 10 gets 3 from KU, Missou, Utah, ISU, BSU etc.

It was his first note about expansion a month ago which sent Delany into a rage which I believe was somewhat verified. Supposedly a friend works for the Big 10 office and that is where he is getting the info.

WildcatReport.com - Message Boards

FWIW

So let me first say that the Big Ten is aware of the original message board thread and believes that it has played a role in bringing about the discussions to where they are now, for better or worse. My friend has kept me in the loop continuously, and as of this point there are some things, if disclosed, that can hurt the negotiation process for the Big Ten. There are others that can help. And I'm a low-risk outlet for information because I have no credibility (other than the 30,000 page views primarily from large southern and eastern states - to you I say thank you for giving Northwestern a moment to occupy the center of the college football world. I believe this will become more commonplace in the future as Pat Fitzgerald continues to build a program of excellence in Evanston.)
