Best Movies of all time

Ok I have heard of none of those except Dodgeball

I would have to list favs in each genre, because I am a movie freak, but if I tried to pick......

1. The Godfather
2. Braveheart
3. Kill Bill
4. A Tale of 2 Sisters (Korean, but one of the most brilliant stories ever)
5. Goodfellas
6. Tombstone

I am probably leaving some out.

Kill Bill...that is a good one. I liked Kill Bill 2 better than 1.

The problem I have is that I like certain directors so I tend to like their movies. Stanley Kubrick is my fav by a wide margin, Turantino, Orsen Wells, Hitchcock all have movies that were important and I loved them.

Any top 10 that starts with "1. Godfather" has instant credibility far as I'm concerned.

Care to reconsider that statement?

1. Godfather
2. The Adventures of Pluto Nash
3. Inspector Gadget
4. The Avengers
5. Battleship Earth
6. Waterworld
7. Heaven's Gate
8. Ishtar
9. Stop, Or My Mom Will Shoot
10. Godfather III (for symmetry)

Based on your list, I strongly recommend "Infernal Affairs" to you. It's kind of like a Hong Kong version of "Heat".

Check out Dead Again for sure; it's a neglected masterpiece.

Here's my top ten list of favorites, which I also posted on the other thread:

Lord of the Rings Trilogy
Ben-Hur (1959 version)
Star Wars
Mr. Smith Goes to Washington
The Quiet Man
Stagecoach (1939 version)
Captains Courageous (1937 version)
Patton
Singin' In the Rain
It's a Wonderful Life

I guess I won't be having drinks with Folanator anytime soon because I think Stanley Kubrick is a hack.

This really isn't a all time best list, but my "personal list" would go as is for movies that would potentially be "best picture" type movies that really influence people.

1. Crash
2. American History X
3. Boondock Saints
4. The Green Mile.
5. Forrest Gump
6. Braveheart
7. Gladiator
8. Pulp Fiction
9. Saving Private Ryan
10. Enemy of the State
