Bengals versus Steelers, part III

Chad Johnson and T.J. Alpabet are all smiles and laughs and talking shit until they get there asses handed to them in the playoffs. T.J. said "The better team didn't win and the NFL didn't want the Bengals to play any further." What a crybaby. It's funny that these two didn't think they would see the Steelers again and talked all the shit after the 2nd Steelers-Bengals game. I guess whiny Bengals posts and whiny ass Bengal receivers makes this win even more satisfying.

I'm a Bengals fan and agree that sounds like sour grapes.

The best team won.

No more whiny than whiny ass Hines Ward crying about how his team was disrepected because of "Who Dey videos" (what that has to do with him or his team is beyond me) and people wiping their feet on a Terrible Towel.

If you're upset about trash talking after the second game, you need to look at your own team. Nobody talks more trash than the Steelers.

My problem with the Steelers isn't so much how the injury happened but the idiot players reaction to it (with the possible exception of Cowher and Oelhoffen AFTER the game). Of course Steeler fan isn't going to see that so I don't know why I'm wasting my post time.

Enjoy your win while it lasts, unless they can find out a way to take out Peyton Manning next week.

Oh, I completely agree. Too bad my post wasn't a Bengals' post.

It was mildly entertaining to watch the classless Bengals' receivers and the classless Steelers' D-Backs jaw back and forth all day. But a classy organization is going to end all of that Steeler jabber talk next weekend.

I'd like to see a link of Housh saying this. When and where because I have not seen anything with any of the Bengals saying anything like this. Most of the comments that I saw for Bengals players were saying that losing Palmer was a big blow, but it's the NFL and you have to make adjustments.

I must say I sit near the field with my tickets and I didn't see a single beer thrown. I did see quite a few people escourted out by the Cincinnati police, most of whom were pittsburgh fans. In the area I was sitting in the fans were foaming at the mouth by some of the none calls and taunting by pittsburgh players which in my opinion is completly unessasary. There is no reason to cup you hands and taunt the crowd which was already at a fever pitch.

The taunting started as soon as they were on the field as Joey Porter kept trying to go down to the Bengals end of the feild and was mouthing off and pointing to the point were the officals finally moved him phyically back to his own end of the field. That should have been a sign to the officals right there that things needed to be watched closely. After Carson went down Porter went over to the Bengals sideline and pointed towards the bench, which at that point Chris Perry tried to attack him but Chad Johnson stopped him, so take that for what it is worth.

It was a hell of a game, but I really think that the actions of the pittsburgh players overshadowed a hell of a game.

Mike and Mike show was talking about T.J. this morning.

Rich Braham and Willie Anderson said it wasn't a cheap shot. Time to get over it. I will now give Bengals fans who ranted on the hit after the game a pass but those who are still whining about it are sore losers.

I'd like to see a link of Housh saying this. .

OK - here is one from the Pittsburgh Papers.
LINK
Bengals receivers Chad Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh refused to believe the better team won the game. "No, no," Johnson said, shaking his head when asked whether the Steelers were the better team. Houshmandzadeh went a step further and said the Steelers will lose to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. He also said the referees were working against the Bengals. "They want Indianapolis and New England in the AFC Championship Game," Houshmandzadeh said. "You can plead your case with stuff, but it wasn't going to change. I figured they'd let us decide the game." Houshmandzadeh was upset that several pass-interference calls weren't made against the Steelers secondary.

I know I have zero creditability with Bengal fan...and I admit strong bias against them, so take this post for what it's worth.

There seems to be sentiment among some renegade Bengal fans, that you would have won sans injury...wrong. I'm not saying it wouldn't have been possible, but look at the facts:

1. The series was split 1-1 with injured QB's (Palmer in the playoffs, Roethelisberger in game two). When both QB's were healthy...Steelers won IN Cincy.

2. When Palmer went out, the score was 0-0. Kitna had a great first half and a sub-par second half due to adjustments made by the Steelers at half. In arguments, Bengal fan wants to claim the 17-14 lead and insert Palmer in the second half. That doesn't work. The Steelers had a gameplan and practice around tendencies of Palmer, you can't claim that this game would have been any different had he been in. I believe the Bengals have a better chance WITH Palmer, but I still think they lose because the Steelers are a better overall team. Besides, it's not like Kitna is some homeless guy off the street.

On class...

1. Hines Ward DID make gestures at the crowd. If I were a Bengal fan (God forbid), I would be angry.

2. Those of you who claim to be so outraged by this action had better look in the mirror. Chad Johnson is the biggest showboat sack of crap in the league. He does nothing but antagonize opposing players, fans and to bring attention to himself. If you disagree with Johnson's actions, by all means get angry about Hines cupping his ear. If you are one of the fans that always defends Chad Johnson, you'd better keep your mouth shut about Hines Ward. Hypocrites.

On intent to injure...

A player is getting blocked and is losing his footing. All he's doing is keeping his eyes on the one way he can take down the quarterback. He has NO clue when the ball is released because he's already looking down. At NFL game speed, you tell me if you have time to analyze the situation and think "Why don't I try to hit this guy on the side of his knee to potentially get him out of the game?"...It could have been flagged but was FAR from intentional. I look at it as an equal to the play that hurt Big Ben in game #2 of the series.

I'd be lying if I claimed there wasn't a little part of me celebrating when Palmer went down...but I am pretty sure there was no intent to injure.

Lastly, the Bengals are a franchise on the way up...They are a year ahead of schedule, but haven't proven that they can play defense OR consistently beat above average teams. Quit pretending like a Super Bowl trophy was just stolen from your backyard.

I guess we know now why Lewis shut up his players. Quite a few classless comments around the team this past weekend. Not sure why everything has to be a conspiracy... and not just horrendous reffing.

I had not heard the comments by Housh before and as a Bengals fan I mustsay I am disappointed by those comments.

That beign said there were quite a few comments by Steelers players after the game that I think were uncalled for. One of them being that the Bengals didn't deserve the AFC Chapionship because they are not that good of a team.

As for Ward taunting the crowd that I did not see. I saw him doing his little pose when he scored the touchdown and I had no problem with that. I really have no problem with celebrations after the score. My problem came when after Housh got pushed around in the endzone you had the crowrd start booing loudly and chanting "Pittsburgh sucks" at that point 5 or so of the players that were on defense walked to the back of the endzone and started egging the fans on to boo them louder. That is where my problem lies. Pittsburgh had no reason to do that, and really it created a situation that started to become very dangerous in the stands.

You guys should just come together and admit that both organizations are filled with classless buffoons and then move on peacefully. This "pot calling the kettle black" stuff is pretty amusing though.
well as a skins fan, I'm just commenting on what I see (I hate the behavior of the thugs from The U in washington too)...
