Bengals versus Steelers, part III

This is the second time this has happened to the Bengals. Anyone remember Tony Williams? His career was pretty much ended with this kind of cheap shot. Denver's offensive linemen have gotten away with this crap for years and the NFL turns a blind eye, just like they did that time.

As long as this stuff keeps getting by, it will still happen.

I don't really care about the winning or losing of this game on this subject. When you're messing with a man's (and by extension his team's) livelihood, that's a problem that needs to be addressed.

No you have a psyco on the Bengals forum with over 14,000 post (about the bengals???) making death threats.

If you want to try that argument in court as proof of the wacko Bengals fans good luck Johnny Cochran.

READ MY POSTS, I DO NOT THINK HE DID IT ON PURPOSE. I WILL SPEAK MORE SLOWLY NEXT TIME FOR THE S-L-O-W-E-R STEELERS FANS IN THE HOUSE.

The psycho Bengals fan wasn't the only one wishing death on Kimo. Click on the link. Then you got Bengal fans whining about a legal hit on here. Now this season Roethlisberger has had at least 3 hits very similar to the Kimo-Carson one. You didn't seem be whining about those. First time this happened was against San Diego. Then Baltimore and then the Odell Thurman hit in the 2nd meeting. At least 2 of these hits looked much worse than what Kimo did yesterday.

WRONG. Were there any torn knee ligaments in those cases? I thought not.

Enjoy your rose colored Steelers glasses.

AJ Was that before or after the Catchup man did the Ickey Shuffle after a TD?

The Steelers have ZERO class and Dudley do-right is a punk.

I don't know. I tend to ignore all TD celebrations. Maybe Cincy should worry more about stopping other teams from scoring TD's instead of worrying so much about what they do afterward.

As far as Ward being a punk....maybe, maybe not. But, I know Cincy would love to have him on their team.

No, there weren't. But, there very easily could have been. Had the hits Ben took been at a slightly different angle, there most likely would have been. It's football. Ben got lucky in those cases, and Carson did not. Kimo was doing his job, and it turned out to be a bad break for Cincy.

An interesting wrinkle on all this is what does this do to the draft needs of the Bengals, and their free-agency requirements in the off-season.

Consider --
1st half Jon Kitna plays with courage, the offense still clicks and the defense does enough to take the Bengals into the locker-room leading 17-14.
2nd half (arguably from late 3rd quarter on) the Benglas show themselves out-adjusted by the Steelers, playing with less passion on defense for the most part, Kitna displays an inability to avoid sacks. Thus, lengthening the down and distance. Overall totally out-played by the Steelers. Once the boys from Da Burg were ahead you knew that the Bengals could not stop the run.

Impact on their needs?
Back-up QB:
Well Kitna we knew was gone after this year. A credible back-up to Palmer is absolutely needed. Unless there is a really good, experienced QB coming into free agency this will demand taking a flyer on a college QB in the later rounds.
Defense:
Truly they have needs in three areas. Impact players to stop the run. Depth at DB or a true cover corner. Pass rush from the line.

Before yesterday's game I would have put the defensive needs ahead of much else. Now, I feel they are of equal importance.

If I am wearing rose colored Steelers glasses then how big are your rose colored Bengal glasses? Joe Pa size maybe. Roethlisberger was involved in 3 similar hits like the Kimo-Carson one. The Steelers and Roethlisberer are damn lucky he missed only a total of 4 games. He missed 1 game from the first hit and 3 games from the second hit. At least 2 were very similar to the one ocurred yesterday. ACL and MCL inuries are freaky. Some look worse than others. All four of these hits are unfortunate but I they were not at the intent to injure. Shit like this happens in football.

Taking a QB in the mid rounds would be a good idea for the Bengals. Maybe a prospect like Kirsch or even Jordan Palmer. Keep Krenzel on staff as a #2 for a year and develop a young kid.

First round has to be a run stopper. Gabe Watson or Rod Wright maybe if they fall that far?

The name change is weak, I'll admit. Can't find one I like.

Steeler fans (and Hines fxcking Ward) are all smiles and laughs until they get it handed to them in the playoffs. Which, for better or for worse, happens just about every year. And will again this year.

I guess they better hope someone takes out Peyton Manning.

Chad Johnson and T.J. Alpabet are all smiles and laughs and talking shit until they get there asses handed to them in the playoffs. T.J. said "The better team didn't win and the NFL didn't want the Bengals to play any further." What a crybaby. It's funny that these two didn't think they would see the Steelers again and talked all the shit after the 2nd Steelers-Bengals game. I guess whiny Bengals posts and whiny ass Bengal receivers makes this win even more satisfying.
