Go Bucks!

To get to the national championship game now we need two of three scenarios.

1. WV has to be defeated by either UCONN or Pittsburgh. ( i would think the pittsburgh rivalry game has the better chance of a WV defeat )

2. Kansas and Missouri play each other. One of which will fall out. The Other still plays Oklahoma in the Big 12 championship game where we need Oklahoma to win.

3. LSU needs to lose to either Arkansas (unlikely) or TN or UGA. UGA has the best chance IMHO.

It's only two out of three scenarios that we need. Like being in the clubhouse waiting for the others to finish the 18th hole.

What 2 out of 3 do you think is most realistic?

My vote would go for 2 and 3 leaving us to play WVU in the BCS. Don't like the matchup since they run that double threat offense that always gives us trouble, but hell, it would be redemption to bury an offense like that and show everyone Illinois was just a bad day.

Illinois gave Ohio State trouble. Of all the spread option teams OSU has played, they were the only one. So..why do you think they "always" give OSU trouble?

Edit: By the way, I would agree with the assertion that White and Slaton would be a challenge for OSU's D... I don't agree with the word "always" however.

The silencing of lambs in the Big 12 is a near dead certainty - with the only negative outcome for the Buckeyes being a Kansas winning out.

At which point Kansas, frankly, deserves their shot.

Mizzo beating an undefeated Kansas team and a powerful OU team would put them over the top. We really need OU/Texas to win the B12 championship.

I wasn't really speaking of the spread like a NWU or Purdue runs, but rather the teams we have played over the past 5 years that have a running QB who can also sling it a little bit. I mean even Teabow/Leak did it to us a alittle bit and Vince Young did it to us a little even though we did a better job stopping the run against him, but he beat us with the pass. I guess it isn't always, but that would be the type of offense we are use to playing the least coming from the Big Ten. How many option teams do we play?

I'm having a hard time remembering any Spread Option QB who toasted Ohio State in the last 5 years. Young would probably be the only one I can think of, and he didn't really toast Ohio State at all.. though he made a huge play when it mattered. (He had a great run early, but was shut down for the most part after that.) I'm probably forgetting someone, but no one sticks out. I don't count Leak in that, though I would include Tebow (this year... last year, he was just a RB who took snaps).... FWIW

And, again, I do agree that WVU is a complicated matchup... Though I like OSU's D v. WVU's O as opposed to WVUs D v. OSU's O.

I think WV would give us the most trouble out of all the teams we could possibly play. However, I think the way we beat them is the same way we beat TSUN, give Beanie the ball 30+ times, control the clock and wear down their Defense.

I would have been more worried about Oregon (with Dixon) White and Slaton are good, real good. Their D, however, worries me little. But, I would agree about them being the toughest match up with respect to an opponent v. OSU's D of those teams still in the hunt.

This is the scenerio that I see that needs to happen for us to be #2 and going to the NC game.

1. LSU needs to loose the SEC Champ game.

2. I see Oregon winning out.

3. Oklahoma needs to lose one of the next 2 games (TT or Ok St). When they go to the Big 12 Champ game, they need to win that game.

4. The winner of the Kansas/Missouri game needs to loose in the Big 12 Champ game.

5. West Virginia needs to loose one more game.

HAHA I know it's a long shot, but there is a chance. All of this needs to happen + tOSU needs to kick the crap out of scUM.

:osu: :scum4: :oh:

Well this situation is almost coming true. Even though Oregon has lost, the Oklahoma situation is still intact. We shall see what happens.

I posted this back in the Illini thread 1 week ago...

We probably fall to 8th since BC lost.
Kansas and Missu still play plus the winner will lose to Oklahoma in the Big 12 game so we jump those 2 putting us 6th
Oregon still has its perinial let down game coming and WVU still has UConn and the Backyard Brawl (I can dream, remeber this is just my bedtime prayers I am saying here...) so two more down and we are 4th
Pray Oklahoma goes down prior to the Big 12 game... we are third.
That leaves LSU in the SEC game still to play and ASU with USC left.

Is this really that hard to look forward to with the way this season has gone? Its very stupid realistically we could end at 1 again (yeah, right voters... I forgot). Possible to get to 2 and most likely we end in the top 5. WTF is wrong with that?

I wasnt so far from the truth with Oregon and Chokelahoma!!!!

Tough to say. Oklahoma looked bad for 3-1/2 quarters last night, so I don't want to get too excited about our chances.

That would be about the time Bradford was not in the game. Given the nature of his injury, I think it is likely he will play, and if he plays, I would give Okl a better shot at winning than 25%.

GO BUCKS!!
