As for our offense, I have never seen anyone blow through our o-line like that, not only that, when someone gets through I am used to seeing them run around and fall as if there were benny hill music playing, however, tonight the gators had his ticket.

They played a great game while we played our worst game, it's a bummer but it was still a great season.

I don't know much about Xs and Os, so I think it's a bad situation when even I can look at what we're doing and say "it's 3rd and short -- and not a single man in coverage is in front of the marker?" and then Leak throws an easy slant for 5 yards. It also seemed obvious to me that we needed to run more in the 1st half. We were actually pretty succesful when we did run early in the game.
I understand confusion, I don't understand failure to even attempt to adapt, and just stubbornly sticking to the same gameplan when it's obviously not working.
Keep in mind, it would take a lot more than this for me to ever call for anyone's head or refer to anyone being on the proverbial "hot seat" -- but I think this game does show that the coaching staff needs to take a long hard look at what they're doing and recommit themselves. And I trust that they will do both.

Well let me start off by saying these past months since July have been amazing! From the first game where we couldn't tackle Wolfe and got our first win with a young defense, our unbelievable game against Texas, The showdown with Michigan which sealed Troy as a saint in columbus, and even tonight against Florida where we just weren't the best team. I loved every minute of this season. I'm sad to see it end the way it did because I believe we could've played a lot better, but Florida deserved it tonight. Thank you to all the seniors on our team, and as hard as it is to say this right now.... can't wait till next year!!! GO BUCKS...

On a technical side note though, I'll agree that whatever game plan we had we should've threw it out the window after the 1st quarter. Worst gameplan since tressel has been here... But you lose some ya win some... Go bucks!

i am also very impressed with the kind of leadership troy has displayed throughout the whole season. but i have never been MORE impressed with him and the way he lead the guys tonight. he has been chased around, sacked, hurried all over the field tonight; he stood right by his linemen and tried to cheer them up. toward the end of the fourth quarter, when boone completely missed the rushing end, troy tried to get away from the imminent sack and slid at our own 5-6 yard line, he got up and was frustrated. although he let his emotion shown, imo, it was still well under-controlled. at any rate, the quality of a leader doesn't always shine during the high time; sometimes it's best seen in the valley low.

The defense didn't kill us all night. The offense killed the defense all night. How well did you expect the defense to play when they were on the field almost the entire game?

Also, is it possible some scUM fans snuck out to the desert and put some of their own magic turf down while the grass was outside getting it's sun, then didn't tell us to wear our magic shoes?

I don't see Ginn making a difference. He stretches the field and Troy never had time to let Teddy run any fly/go/post routes effectively.

Here's what freaks me out about our defense: Michigan did it to us all game long and UF just did it to us all game. We need to fix Heacock's mess. I know it is good enough to beat most of the B10 and a second tier Texas team and Notre Dame. But if we want to hang with USC we need to address this bullshit this spring.

Tonight

It was really surprising to see the team look (and forgive me for this) out of shape tonight--sluggish and just not there...

51 days is just too, too long.

If we play someone/anyone in the meantime, tonight is, at least, a contest. But we didn't, and this is what happened.

If there was ever an argument for a playoff, this is it.
Forget the NonBCS teams, or "should have been in the NC game" arguments.
The players simply need to PLAY in those weeks in between. That's how we'll find out who the best team is each year.

Well, if this is gonna be the "airing of grievances" thread, I'm gonna say something that needs to be said...if it hasn't been said elsewhere.

Thank you to all of our departing seniors. What you all accomplished will not be remembered for this one game. Your body of work will speak for itself. Keep your heads up young men, you have a lot to be proud of.

Teddy, Gonzo and Pitt...the same to you. If this was indeed your swan song, thank you. I know you will all find success in the NFL.

Congrats to the Gators. Wow, very impressive. They played like the National Champions and put to rest any doubt who deserves to be in this game. We were beat by the better team.

This stings like hell, but it's still great to be a Buckeye.:osu:

True, on the run I was pulling my hair out when we went three-and-out on our next offense, due to three pass attempts. Also, there was always that open guy for 5-7 yards in the center.

Keep in mind, it would take a lot more than this for me to ever call for anyone's head or refer to anyone being on the proverbial "hot seat" -- but I think this game does show that the coaching staff needs to take a long hard look at what they're doing and recommit themselves. We'll see what next year holds, sure there's some things that need to be changed, however, 12-1 with a trip to the NC game is still more than expected for most programs. :osu:

Would they have been able to bring that much pressure if Teddy were in the game stretching the field?
Also, I feel comfortable in the fact that we don't need to fix Heacock's mess. I doubt JT will be calling on any of us to do that.
