"We're anxious to see what kind of defense they play to match up with all of us on the field, because there's gonna be a lot of speed and playmaking ability out there," he said. "We personally don't think they can stop us, but I know they feel they do, so we gonna see if they step up to the challenge with all that speed and playmaking."

Then on top of that what Jarvis had to say about their defense regaurding our offense? Teams with this kind of confidence in their team speed only end up having a very rude awakening. When they just believe and think they can walk out onto the field and just run past us in every phase of the game is when teams end up being shocked as hell.

Ahhh, memories of the scUM south and their comments before the 2003 Fiesta Bowl. I honestly thought Kellen was talking for a moment.....

I always had the sense he was being a little tongue in cheek... well, on the local radio show, anyway. I can't say I've seen him give a ESPN analysis of the game yet.

From what I've seen, he sounds pretty sincere when he talks about their speed. At least that is what I've seen when he's on ESPN. Keep in mind, I didn't catch much of the segment, when they mentioned Florida my TV went into some weird kind of time warp. Madness.....

He made fun of the 'southern speed' advantage on 1460 soon after making those comments on E!SPN.

It's quite possible Florida is the fastest team they've seen all year (at least since Texas). Their offense is quite fast, but hardly consistent.

Well, then this will mark the second time that I can recall quickly that I've had what I think are good reasons to disagree with Herbie's analysis.. the other was NC State 2004.

Going along with the consistency theme, I feel that Florida's downfall will be their lack of composure. At some point their backs will be against the wall and I don't think they have what it takes to keep from crumbling. Throughout the year they've made mistakes and their opponents haven't made them pay. They've got all the skill in the world. I won't deny them that. But many of their wins were the result of gifts from their opponents. I just don't see us giving them those gifts. If we do, we'll probably lose. I wouldn't bet on it though:biggrin:

Yeah I mean I won't deny this team is good and they might be one of the faster teams we'll face this year, but on the same token Florida will have faced no one near us as far as talent goes (speed included). Unlike Florida, we've had to play in three games this year were the Media Coverage was down right insane... 1st-2nd ranked Texas who was defending national champions, 2nd-12th ranked Iowa who we had to play in their house at night, 3rd- Michigan at the end of the year our championship hopes and big ten rights.

I think over all Florida did play the harder schedule but we played in more PRESSURE games IMO. Where we had to deal with pressure and had to deal with the spotlight. Each time we've shined and honestly played almost lights out (especially on offense). Florida has no experience with how to play on the big stage and so I look for that to show, especially early..

I would consider this the perfect season if we won the game and Ginn had the chance to out run the Florida defense for a long touchdown.... Could you imagine the reaction from the southern boys if Teddy housed one from 70 yards out by outrunning everyone?

Exactomundo. If Florida were to jump to a quick 14-0 lead, Smith and the experienced Buckeyes won't fold...no way in the world can you say that about Leak and his young Gators if Ohio State jumps out 14-0. Also, I'm not sure how many times Meyer has faced a big deficit in a big game...Tressel twice has faced 28-0 third quarter deficits in big games ('92 I-AA title game at Marshall and 2001 Outback Bowl) and came back to tie 28-28 in both (lost both to last second FGs). Smith and Tressel never waiver...same probably can't be said about Meyer and Leak.
