Game Thread BCS Championship Game, tOSU vs. Florida - Jan 8th

One thing that worries me about florida's legendary speed:

their d-line is very fast, we can all agree to that. If i remember correctly cinci's undersized but fast d-line gave us all sorts of problems in the first half by stunting and using their quickness to their advantage. Will florida copy the bearcats' line scheme and be able to disrupt our game like they did? Or am i just buying into the Florida Speed hype too much?

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. ? The NFL careers of some former Ohio State players may get them inside the velvet ropes of swanky nightclubs, but that won't guarantee them a spot on the sidelines for the BCS championship game this year.
The Buckeyes normally have as many as 20 discretionary sideline passes for bowl games, but the BCS is limiting them to five for Monday's game.

GLENDALE, Ariz. ? The datelines on the pregame hype may say "Phoenix" or "Scottsdale," but the climactic battle of the college season is in neither of those places.
Because, on Monday, "Glendale's Got Game."

To get a ticket, winners need bucks and luck

Good connections are no guarantee for a seat at the University of Phoenix Stadium on Monday.

GLENDALE, Ariz. ? It's three days until kickoff. The clock is running.
But in this game there are no timeouts, no incomplete passes, no running out of bounds to save minutes and seconds.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. ? What a difference four years, four Arizona bowl trips and possibly two national titles make.
When I visited the town of Buckeye, 45 minutes west of here before Ohio State played Miami for the college crown in 2003, I found several people unsure what a buckeye was.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. ? The question was obvious once Antonio Smith, Ohio State's All-Big Ten cornerback, sat down at his interview table on Thursday morning.
How's the left shoulder?

Confident receiver
Andre Caldwell, the Gators' junior wide receiver, admitted that he can be a little cocky....And he thinks the Ohio State defense has its work cut out for it
"We personally don't think they can stop us," Caldwell said. "We'll see how they do against so many playmakers."

Tom Archdeacon: Grandma steals OSU lineman's show

By Tom Archdeacon
Dayton Daily News

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. ? Quinn Pitcock finally got his football comeuppance.
It came not from some massive offensive lineman who pancaked him to the ground or an elusive quarterback who left him grasping only air, but from a 5-foot grandma with gray hair and flower-frame glasses.

RALPH D. RUSSO

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - The Florida Gators are feeling unappreciated and they're not happy about it. There's no doubt the Gators are the underdogs heading into the BCS championship game against top-ranked Ohio State on Monday night.
