Game Thread BCS Championship Game, tOSU vs. Florida - Jan 8th

I saw the question asked about the halftime show. I think I read somewhere that our band will be playing the same routine as they did against Michigan.....which was pretty much the coolest halftime show I've ever seen in my life. Hopefully they air the whole thing. It's that good.

Personally, I don't think you can ever be totally prepared for "Florida's Gadget Plays" and I really think we will see a few of them. No better time to throw one in than when the D is over-pursuing or heavy aligned to one side for run support. The threat of Harvin or any number of the UF speedsters with a reverse or option pass is scary. My guess on the trick play over/under would be 4.

Definitely! Especially after that Boise State game and all the talk it's getting....I can see Urban Meyer wanting to pull some trickery out just like that. Oh man and do they love the wide receiver screen pass. They love lining up 3 or 4 WRs to one side and having one break in towards the middle of the field for a screen. Watch for that play several times during the game.

SEC superiority?

Reputation for speed on line when Florida meets OSU

by Stewart Mandel
link

"When people talk about the speed in the Southeastern Conference, they're talking about the speed on the defensive front," said Florida co-defensive coordinator Charlie Strong. "They're talking about a defensive end like Jarvis Moss, a guy who we can drop into pass coverage."
Such a thing would be unheard of at Ohio State.

Yeah, Vernon Gholston was just out of position when he had his interception this year. No way he actually dropped into coverage. That was a little bit of blown assignment and a lot of luck.

Just look at him. How could a guy with that many veins poking through his skin be fast?

Everyone knows Ohio State never zone-blitzes or 'games'. It's common knowledge.

Forget about his veins.....did you see where he was born? He's not even Ohio slow, he's MICHIGAN slow. That's even farther north.

I don't think Fla. offense is that complicated when Wynn is in the backfield they only run between the tackles but when Percy is in the backfield he runs wide. If tOSU pressures Leak and read the above keys Fla. is going to have trouble scoring. Fla won't win the TO battle like scUM did.

The bad thing was Gholston didn't drop into coverage rather he was beaten so badly and quickly that he as pushed back into the throwing lane of the QB. on a side note I must say I don't know if I've ever seen a college football in better shapen than Gholston. That guy's a freak. I don't believe tosu has been beat by many trick plays since Tressel has become coach? I can't recall very many?? actually I can't recall any..

Will Smith and Bobby Carpenter are 2 other fine examples. I'm just wondering how they're gonna' have enough space to shove all those feet in their mouths.

Oh, and no way Florida can use the underdog card anymore. Everyone on ESPN and CBS is picking them plus CFNews.com. The only people who favor us are vegas.
