Game Thread BCS Championship Game, tOSU vs. Florida - Jan 8th

I think everyone talks about their trick plays hurting us... but I was wondering how many of you think a trick play will be the reason they LOSE the game? IMO I think they'll out due themselves and turn it over... I'll take a offense who can do what they want without the trick plays over a offense who is inconsistent but can once in a while hit it big with a trick play.. almost here!!! GO BUCKS...

I think it is every bit as likely that we blow up one of their trick plays as they hit us big with it. The thing with most trick plays is that they develop slowly giving the D time to adjust. They fail more than they work, you just remember the ones that work because they get shown over and over and over.

One segment a day in practice we have worked on defending special plays. We will be ready for them and stay at home. UF's big problems have been their play calling all year long. They have gotten extremely lucky to get away with some of their wins. Most Gators fans will admit that the play calling has been bad at key times during their games.
P.S. I would like to see them try a fake punt against us deep in their territory. :osu:

Less than 72 hours away.

I drove to the stadium today, just to check it out, and to see if I could buy game programs ahead of time (no on that).

There were a couple of Florida fans laying down on an air mattress about 3 in the afternoon. I'm not sure why they wanted to be the first ones there (maybe to get on TV) but a guy from the facility was telling them they should go because he wasn't going to let them stay overnight there.

I'll give you guys one aspect that I feel this game does indeed match up exactly like the 2002 game.

UF's lame attempt to pull the "no respect/underdog" card is exactly like Dorsey and company pulling the no respect card because he didn't win the fucking Heisman. :shake:

They are cocky as hell about the SEC/speed thing, make no mistake.

True dat. It's a subject that resembles a horse that has suffered from mafia style baseball bat beating.......... We get it Florida, you think your fast. How many fucking times are we going to have to hear about your self appointed speed title? Quite frankly, who gives a shit? Let's play this game and let the cards fall where they may. I've got a feeling that the Bucks are going to surprise the Alligators on Monday.....

It's the Crocodiles, did you miss the media guide year before last...

It must have been a pre-post-mortem tribute to Steve Irwin or something!

Gators play no-respect card freely
Saturday, January 6, 2007
By Todd Porter REPOSITORY SPORTS WRITER

GLENDALE, Ariz. No one respects the Florida Gators. No one believes they should be in Arizona getting ready to play in Monday night?s BCS National Championship Game. All week long, Gator players have talked about a lack of respect. And all week long, Ohio State players have spoken respectfully about Florida.

Leak already has ring
Saturday, January 6, 2007

GLENDALE, Ariz. Florida quarterback Chris Leak already has a national championship ring. He borrowed graduate assistant Nick Schiralli's 1996 title ring a few weeks ago, hoping to get a real feel for what the Gators are playing for against Ohio State.
"I've got it stashed in a safe place," Leak said at media day Friday, three days before Florida plays the Buckeyes in the BCS national championship game. "The last thing you want to do is lose it."

Dueling winners

Each year, scholarships in memory of late Ohio State Coach Woody Hayes are given to a male and female athlete from each of the three NCAA divisions.
The winners were announced Friday - and one of them will have some serious bragging rights at the Jan. 26 dinner in Columbus. The male winner in Division I was Stan White Jr., who will start at fullback for Ohio State in Monday night's national championship game. Taking the Division I honors for women was former Florida women's basketball point guard Sarah Lowe, who will be cheering for the Gators to beat White and the Buckeyes.

Florida back runs from his past
Underachieving stigma has dogged Wynn until recently

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

GLENDALE, Ariz. ? Dozens of times during his five years at Florida, DeShawn Wynn felt more like a hated Georgia Bulldog than a Gator. For starters, there?s the doghouse he has spent more time in than any Florida player; largely deserved, too, the recent graduate will tell you.
