These were my exact thought while watching the game. I think it is often easy to criticize the coaching staff because we aren't there on the field with them. We don't know what they have seen on the film. However, I finally called my parents last night to discuss the game. My dad reported to me that MY MOTHER knew every play that Florida was running and she was asking why they didn't change the D. This is the same woman how is likely to walk into the room during a football game and ask what inning it is. She was pretty critical of the offense too. I'm 33 and I have never heard my mother break down a gameplan before. She thought it was so bad that she asked if the coach would be fired. We assured her that wouldn't be happening.
With a little more time to reflect. It seems to me that JT sometimes gets into a stubborn streak when his team isn't executing. The second half of Illinois was another good example. It's almost like they are in practice drills and he's saying keep running it until you get it right. I am by no means saying that's what happened, but that's what it looked like.
We love you Tressel, but please don't ever have another gameplan that my mother can figure out.

I can't believe we didn't run Pittman more, especially after Ginn went down.
The whole game was a domino effect: Ginn goes down-->, puts more pressure on the rest of the offense, offensive line crumbles and gives Troy no time--> offense not on the field more than 3 downs --> defense, who is playing shaky anyway, does not get off the field and gets exhausted--> Florida gets a lead up, and all of the momentum.

Just a guess but I believe that was perhaps the last time an SEC team went north. Not too many of those team want a home and home.

Too many conference games
If OSU and Michigan had some competition in their conference they would not want to go outside of it to play many games either. Florida, all SEC teams, play 8 conference games against teams like LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Georgia and Tennessee. You play a schedule like that and you wouldn't want to play anyone that was tough outside of your conference. It is a brutal schedule every year.
If OSU and Michigan had some competition in their conference they would not want to go outside of it to play many games either. Florida, all SEC teams, play 8 conference games against teams like LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Georgia and Tennessee. You play a schedule like that and you wouldn't want to play anyone that was tough outside of your conference. It is a brutal schedule every year.

Got home about 12:30 last night. Read through the first 3 pages or so and while putting the blame on the whole team is the pc thing to do, I have to disagree. The OL is what put this game out of reach. If you want to say that UF's db's were able to maintain coverage for the 2 or 3 seconds Troy had for most of the passing plays, then fine... they were all coverage sacks. 
The sacks and pressures were all due to no, and I mean no protection. It wasn't like UF was blitzing all night. Their ends (especially Boone's side) were coming through like there was no one there. I can't remember one play were Troy had time to drop back, get his feet set and throw an accurate pass. He was running for his life the whole game. I don't agree from getting away from the run so early. When we are in a 4 or 5 receiver set, and UF can get pressure instantly with 4 guys, its game over. Hell the 4th and 1 play, Beanie was caught from behind. That just can't happen. No push + no blocking = 3 and out.

my take
This is my take and it really pains me. Please read in deadpan voice.
This is not about which players were better, who had a better team, season, tradition, conference, etc. On January 8th we were outplayed, out-coached, and UF?s water boy probably had higher quality H2O.
When I say outplayed, I mean we lost more of the one on one battles that make up a football game, especially in the trenches.
When I say out coached, I mean it appeared to me we were not as prepared or as motivated as UF when we took the field. I believe we had comparable talent at least. With this belief what is left is preparation, motivation, the initial game plan and game time adjustments. The results speak for themselves.
Keeping some perspective, this was just one game. It was still a great season. JT is still a great coach. I still love the program.
Remember this is just my take. Many of yours vary and I respect that.
