I would kill to see something like this:

Tactical_Flashlight_-_Multiplayer.gif

Ours literally looks like this, just in white, and much less refined in its coverage... since the 360 can't process that much detail as the white fades via gradient into the surrounding darkness

Every inch of that glow looks like this, not just the bright center of it

Ask and ye shall receive...

Though no date was announced, DICE is looking into it.

For those complaining about the tactical light, the next patch will tone them down.

They are also changing the IR scopes. No pictures of that yet.

Sorry, had to do it.

Oh, and they are also nerfing the AA. not sure how. They say it's not the damage, but it causes air vehicles to change course. Not sure what they mean, but they are changing the effects of the AA on aircraft.

I can tell you that most all of the Marines I know (including myself) love BF3 more than any other FPS out there. It has a more authentic feel. Maybe it is the vehicles, I don't know. I think it is more of the diversity of roles to play. It isn't just sniping/camping/run and gun like all of the MW series. In BF3, support by fire works, there are mortars, close air support, spotters, combined arms with light armor and heavy armor etc...... If you can truly Shoot, Move, and Communicate effectively with your fire team and squad, you can DOMINATE.

I played recently with a couple of my former Marine Corps buddies plus JWins and it was the most fun I have had in a long, long time playing a FPS. Using an AAV (which is what one of these guys and myself used to crew in the Marines) and a couple others in the back as supporting infantry, we dominated some maps.

JWins is a very good player too even if he isn't a Jarhead lol.....

edit: some of the bias could also come from the fact that this is a Marine Corps game using USMC vehicles (AAV's, LAV's etc..)

I was unable to play very much at launch due to my work schedule and was falling behind everyone else in terms of weapons but now that I am unlocking some of the better weapons and able to put more time into it I am getting a lot better. It's amazing what playing with an organized squad will do for you though. When I am playing with a couple buddies we can single handedly dominate a game without much help from the rest of our team.

I agree that sniping is pretty badass in this, but for those that have a lot more unlocked - does the SKS really suck or is it just me? I seem to prefer the bolt action SV98 over it significantly. Perhaps I just need to unlock a better scope or something but even with it being semi-auto I find it to be WEAK.

That's what I love about Battlefield games (including Bad Company's). You have to expect to suck early, but if you stick it out, you will enjoy it the more you play. I can't wait to pick this up.

It's not that I sucked early on (have always been around 1+ k/d ratio - but it's gone from 1 to 1.2 in a hurry as of late. This is usually the case with an FPS when I get it. I play so so for a while and then it takes me a good bit of putting up a 2-3 K/D ratio to make my overall look better.

BF games are a bit different though - not just about kills. A lot of my points are from reviving and/or blowing up vehicles. I'm typically at/near the top in points but have 3-4 people with more kills than I.

I'll admit it. When I start BF games, I suck out loud. Then again, I am used to Call of Duty type FPS action and that doesn't translate into Battlefield play very well at all.

Bolt action is where it's at... I unlocked the m40 last week, nothing better than getting a headshot from 300 meters away.

The maps are great. Operation Firestorm is a little bit big for 24 players, but the tank warfare is terrific and there aren't that many places to hide.

Operation Metro is mediocre like the demo.

The rest are excellent and diverse.

Seine Crossing is an excellent urban map, with a large variety of paths and ways to attack & defend.

Canals features a different style of vehicles. A lot more transport & helicopter centric, close quarters between trailers, train tracks, small buildings... with sniping, spotting & anti-vehicle support as well.

Almost every map allows you to attack aggressively, while still being smart, using cover, etc. Operation Metro is the only bottleneck map.
